My guess is you're setting the event to trigger on Player Touch, instead try setting it to Event Touch.

Try copying a Game.rpgproject from another games folder into the one that is giving the error. That file does not contain your game data, it simply tells the MV editor how to navigate the other files in the folder that actually contain your game data.
