Hmm... I think there is a problem with making custom items in tilesets. They all look too clean and not 'SNES' / 'Genesis' enough to fit in with the other tiles. I don't know how to fix that problem but it does lead to a complete clash between the custom and the RTP / DLC (some DLC even falls for this). I think the castles (the screenshots further down) would look amazing if you could put like accurate shadows on and on the ground and maybe in the finished product mess up some of the bricks. Like bricks are not always perfect some of them has slight noches in there, slight scratches and things.
They look really nice, however make sure you keep the lighting correct:
Lighting in 2d really is a trouble, I wish it would be easy as it is in 3d work, but lets get over it.
The top castle wall is trouble, I knew it I was making it angles, so I decided to leave it to fix during parallax, focused on main obvious lighting effects.

So like:

But less crude lol
The front face would probably also have a little shadow too but that atm is less jarring.
Lighting is something you'll need to really keep in mind.
Know I've been quite critical but I'd like you to make amazing things and you asked for it :P lol
Don't worry, you are totaly right and I thank you a lot for even marking in the picture what is wrong, THAT is the kind of thing I like, because it shows what would be changed to give a better work for people to use. Most of the shade effects that were missing were made because of Parallax Mapping, I would expect people to it manually. But other shade problem are because I missed them : ) so sorry. Keep helping me with this and I'll perect the work.

Because I like to make things like this, I can't explain. Also I love games, and one thing I pay attention is for interior and exterior designs. Games like Witcher and most notable on Dark Souls 3, in my opion, are true works of art. Its pleasure through image, that all I can say, you feel the pleasure of seeing such level of quality, I'm trying to bring this to MV. But I'm really far from reaching it, I never did any game design before, so opinions and review of people around here are incredible important for me know where I have missed, what should be changed. I'm still an amateur and still learning how to create good mappings for MV.These works of art are pretty impressive. Some shading adjustments can be made but for the most part impressive. Most people who would play your game most likely wouldn't notice any flaws to it. Might I ask what it is you do to create such level of detail to your designs?

Have made some minor changes and additions.Exactly, the lighting is certainly something that needs to be considered here. The things on the top should have lines on the left part, a sharper angle on the middle section and next to none on the right side, like a small triangle as it shadows from the sun. Think this is the main thing that needs a little work.

[doublepost=1461538234][/doublepost]Made this today also, stair in multiple angles. I'm thinking about to remove the one with a down angle because its a bit weird and also because I have no idea how to make it better (yet), so that's for now. Still need some shadows in these stairs, I'll do it when and if after I solve the down angle problem.
