Tileset I need Opinion and Ideas

Hmm... I think there is a problem with making custom items in tilesets. They all look too clean and not 'SNES' / 'Genesis' enough to fit in with the other tiles. I don't know how to fix that problem but it does lead to a complete clash between the custom and the RTP / DLC (some DLC even falls for this). I think the castles (the screenshots further down) would look amazing if you could put like accurate shadows on and on the ground and maybe in the finished product mess up some of the bricks. Like bricks are not always perfect some of them has slight noches in there, slight scratches and things.

They look really nice, however make sure you keep the lighting correct:
Lighting in 2d really is a trouble, I wish it would be easy as it is in 3d work, but lets get over it.
The top castle wall is trouble, I knew it I was making it angles, so I decided to leave it to fix during parallax, focused on main obvious lighting effects.

So like:

But less crude lol

The front face would probably also have a little shadow too but that atm is less jarring.

Lighting is something you'll need to really keep in mind.

Know I've been quite critical but I'd like you to make amazing things and you asked for it :P lol

Don't worry, you are totaly right and I thank you a lot for even marking in the picture what is wrong, THAT is the kind of thing I like, because it shows what would be changed to give a better work for people to use. Most of the shade effects that were missing were made because of Parallax Mapping, I would expect people to it manually. But other shade problem are because I missed them : ) so sorry. Keep helping me with this and I'll perect the work.

These works of art are pretty impressive. Some shading adjustments can be made but for the most part impressive. Most people who would play your game most likely wouldn't notice any flaws to it. Might I ask what it is you do to create such level of detail to your designs?
Because I like to make things like this, I can't explain. Also I love games, and one thing I pay attention is for interior and exterior designs. Games like Witcher and most notable on Dark Souls 3, in my opion, are true works of art. Its pleasure through image, that all I can say, you feel the pleasure of seeing such level of quality, I'm trying to bring this to MV. But I'm really far from reaching it, I never did any game design before, so opinions and review of people around here are incredible important for me know where I have missed, what should be changed. I'm still an amateur and still learning how to create good mappings for MV.

Exactly, the lighting is certainly something that needs to be considered here. The things on the top should have lines on the left part, a sharper angle on the middle section and next to none on the right side, like a small triangle as it shadows from the sun. Think this is the main thing that needs a little work.
Have made some minor changes and additions.

[doublepost=1461538234][/doublepost]Made this today also, stair in multiple angles. I'm thinking about to remove the one with a down angle because its a bit weird and also because I have no idea how to make it better (yet), so that's for now. Still need some shadows in these stairs, I'll do it when and if after I solve the down angle problem.

I've got a few things with that last one:

It's just a thought, you did mention you need to do stuff with the lighting anyway.

Hehehe I was changing. Bellow is how it ended. By the time I made this post, I have already made shade effects on the side stairs, but I haven't showed it on the sample post, it will be on the pack I'll give here for everyone when its finished.. Note that the stair in the bellow point of view is larger than the above, thats in opinion is due to the fact the stair above angle shows the stairs details. It was the best solution I could think of.
These stairs and other I'm making now will be fully ediatable, in any length or size you wish.

[doublepost=1461810317,1461800925][/doublepost]New one I made today. This adds two windows to the wall I have made before. Actually its three window, the one is not present is actually the same as the dark one, but with light inside. I know that the window light reflect is a bit wrong, so I'll fix it tomorrow.

I think I get the stairs now, they're going down not up to something, the lighting is everything on them lol

Those towers look amazing btw, what is your intention with these assets by the way? Once they're complete...

Hunnn I don't know really. I guess I'm just making it for fun, I really love medieval architecture and games. Perhaps one day I could use it on a project of mine, if I can aford the time.
[doublepost=1461896194,1461854347][/doublepost]Two new window for that set. Thats all of these walls and towers set, now I'll work on rooftops and main houses.

[doublepost=1462152619][/doublepost]So I review some of the windows in old posts and I noted that they are a bit wrong, so I decided to make them again. Like all these windows before, these new one will be able to be placed by the maker itself. Its just the first window. After I finish these, I'll work on roofs and houses.

[doublepost=1462225876][/doublepost]I tried to make a spiral stair today, I don't know if its nice, so I made some small sample work with it.

[doublepost=1462320538][/doublepost]

Hello everyone. I was looking for medieval buildings and I happened to find an amazing city in France, Le Mount Saint Michel. I decided to create its tower, or try to reach as close as possible to it. This is how its becoming:

Edit: Changed the windowless for this one with windows placed. Made some minor shade, but I will leave the rest for parallax mapping. The interior need some improvement, I didn't thought on anything to fit inside. I think a Bell would be nice, but I don't have any models right now. When I release it, the original will be empty, so you will be able to put anything in there.

This tower become so high that I don't know how it will fit in RPG Maker MV, saying that its only the upper part of the building. Its not finished yet, I'll make some windows and work on some shades.
[doublepost=1462908792][/doublepost]Hello again! Today I made some progress with housing, this is how it is becoming:

By now these sets are using a total of 13 Tileset files, so its impossible to do everything without using parallax through a third party program. Its an absolute shame that RPG Maker MV cannot accept unlimited Tileset size, because it would make makers life more easly to create the basic buildings in the maker, than switch to parallax for the rest. I believe when its finished it will take more than 20 files to be able to make this set that I'm doing. Anyway hope its to everyone taste. If anyone wants a sample of my work for MV test, I would make one too.
[doublepost=1463179159][/doublepost]New tower I made today.

The interesting of this tower is that is has 3 different fragments with different ways to use them. The window part could be used as doors to move around inside it, like a cross ways to bridges I'm doing now on each sides.

holy moly, your newest one is simply AMAZING! I love the chapel-looking one and the one with the spiral stairs. great work as always, I love it!

Your stuff looks gorgeous :O How many hours passed since you started with these tiles? I mean as in hours you worked on them XD I love the pale colors in the windows, they're not screaming "YESS VIBRAANT WE ARE" and they're creating atmosphere. And these small details, you won't ever see them in other projects (probably), that's just so awesome. It might only need a few more shadings when on the edges ;) When the "wall" is facing to another direction. I hope you know what I mean bc I suck at expressing~

Thank you. I don't have enough time to work with his as I would like, it take 2 to 4 hours of work, more or less, to create the main material, which are arches and other stuff. The pieces are fragmented and I adapt them to create anything I want, to recycle them to create another. The difficult part is not really create it, but place it correctly on MV template, so it would be very easy to link one part to another, just like a puzzle. I can expect people moaning about it when its finished, because as its beautiful, I noticed its a bit difficult to place them correctly on the map. Photoshop is totally necessary to handle the parallax. By now, all the work are placed in a total of 13 tileset files, so its totally impossible to work directly on MV mapping. How I wish MV could be just like XP, with limitless tileset sizes, at least would help a lot creating parallaxes. Don't worry, I'll try to work as much as I can in my vacations in July, and release it free here.

I'm having trouble to create houses, I don't know well what to expect of houses in a castle city, so I'll try to make lower part with stone, some with upper part with stone and wood. I need to learn how to create trees, I believe this city will be very cool with birches trees, instead of oak. Thanks for the feedback and support.

Made this today, I think its getting cool:

[doublepost=1464817685,1464463660][/doublepost]After some review, I decided that the later wall stair was a bit weird, so I decided to make a new one; while I was making a new big tower to whatever castle needs you may have. Note that I still need to create windows to it.

[doublepost=1464972372][/doublepost]Made something today, it will be one of many entrances I'm making for housing. Think that this plaster is nice? I'm learning how to apply plaster like textures, so its still in development.

You have great work! I really like your tilesets (blush) atmospheric, especially the castle. (thumbsup) I think it is not necessary to worry that tilesets are only suitable for Parallax Mapping. It's really difficult to fit them into RPG Maker MV format (perplexed)

A bit of trouble no doubt, but I decided to make a sample here of the house up there for everyone to try. There are parts I need yet to create, but so far its good. Have fun!

Please don't claim this work as your own. You may link it to any website, but I don't allow my work to be published by anyone outside RMMV Resources & Forum.
[doublepost=1465745208,1465575979][/doublepost]A question for everyone who liked this house, should I add a gutter to the roofs? I was thinking about a bronze gutter, but I don't know if medieval houses (since I belive this model is intended to) had gutters or something close to it.

Apparent, open guttering is really a modern invention. In the Middle Ages, buildings important enough to be protected would often have hidden, masonry guttering built in to the walls, or wooden, boxed guttering, again hidden under the eaves. Modern open guttering, down-pipes and such only came in with the Victorian era, with affordable iron castings and the like. At best, an outlet hole, or sometimes a gargoyle, would be visible in olden times. You're in luck; that makes your task easier, eh..? ;-)
Nice work, by the way; I'll see what I can do with it (although it's far from the style I'm currently involved in...). An exercise in style, for the fun, then.

Interesting, thank you. I believe it will be nice leaving this the way it is them.
[doublepost=1466462663,1465751151][/doublepost]Made this bridge. The complete tileset of this bridge goes in all directions, this is just the horizontal sample. All parts are separated for customization.

Still need some shade effects and a custom water animation, but its doing well.

This is going great. I love the look and style you put in it.
Thank you. I hope you like play Leggo, because that's exactly how this bridge/wall segments are made. I'm trying to create every possible connection. Right now I'm losing my life trying to place a diagonal stair in there without breaking the chain of the wall.
