Tileset I need Opinion and Ideas

Hello again buddies, I'm doing some work again in my past time and I need some opinion about this work:

Its part of a tower, yeah its not internal (although it could be used). The internal part is round, covered by these arches. I'm doing now the top of the tower, but I would like to know what you guys think about this. I would appreciate any help. Note that this is not finished work, it has not received any finishing.

*You can use any of my artwork posted here, but please don't take it as your own, try to give credit.

Thanks but I have deleted it. I didn't liked the connection between the big arches and the pillars. I'll do it again tomorrow.

Tomorrow Edit: Now I have changed a bit, see how its now:

The shadows in type 2 are a big improvement compared to the first one. The front arc looks a little bit smaller than the two side arcs I think. But man that looks really realistic and I love all those details.

My big thanks. Its a bit of perspective problem, but both arches are same, the side arch were made from the central arch skewed to 45 degrees perspective. I wish I could have a better RPG Texture, since all my texture came from my Interion Design work sketches I make for a living. I'll try to improve textures in the future. I'm working on the upper part of the tower now.

looks pretty neat. I really like the 2nd one more though, not sure why but it's just more appealing to my eyes. I think it's 'cause it looks a lot smoother and the other one is kind of jagged/"edgy"? (if that's the correct word to use lol) the 2nd one looks shinier too, which is always a plus for me!

the first one is great for a gothic-type castle though (like a vampire castle?)--it looks like a part of a villain's home, while the 2nd one looks more modern/polished--where royalty or nobles might live

anyways, great work so far! I can't wait to see more!

I'm thinking a about doing a next one only with Polygons edges like the type 1, with no round surfaces. I was thinking about a Dwarf buildings with very intricate geometrical straight buildings, in a black marble like surfaces, stones polished like glass.

I like both of them myself, Type 1 makes me think of part of an underground set (or area with little lighting) since it's darker then your 2nd one. This might be my eyes but the lighter one seems to lose some of the details since everything's not as contrasted. That might be me, but the darker one let's some of the details "pop" more when I compare the 2.

Here a new update. I'm still working on the top, like windows and the like. This sample has no shadows yet and its incomplete, its just a sample.

I still don't know if these arches would be more suitable to internal instead of external. If they would be external, they should have some weather degradation and such. The way they are presented, its seems more suitable to internal tilesets.
[doublepost=1459125082,1459019371][/doublepost]I made some progress with a new design, more lean than the last one, but its cool in its simplicity. Now its indeed external for a city.

What you guys think?

It looks nice! The scrunching of the roof textures looks a little bit funky to me though.
Thank you. Indeed I need to use better textures. I only use my Interior Design job textures I own to make these (they are really huge textures, when they are resized, they lose some quality), still I don't want to purchase any game texture yet, also because I'm still learning how to design interiors for MV. My focus now are enhance texture by lighting and shadow effects.

I'm doing a full work now on the last image I've posted here. It will be a castle city. For the texture I was trying to get something like Sandstone or Limestone, with the ambiance like Mediterranean region.

Edit: Made some new progress here (please note that I didn't placed some shadow effects). One thing I should say its not for the MV Mapping anymore. Although they will be correctly made for MV tileset grid, when I finish this work it will need at least 10 different tileset files to fully use it. Once I hated parallax, now I love it, because RPG Maker mapping is so horrible that there is not other way.

Hope you guys like the idea.
[doublepost=1459712111,1459169797][/doublepost]Here we go another one. I decided to not place any shadow effects on the walls and some of the arches, because this Tileset is intended for Parallax Mapping, and the shadow effects will be placed based on light directions.

You got some really good looking stuff here, you're doing a great job on everything. I can't really give you any pointers I'm not tileset designer lol but I think all of it looks really good and I'm eager to see what you will continue to design. Keep them coming.

I agree, the bottom pictures show what they look like in action, and I really like it. I think it'll look great in a game. Keep up the great work :)

My thanks. It will take a while to finish them, it will be a castle city, intended for parallax mapping only. When its finished I'll post here, free of course.

that wall looks really awesome. I'm super impressed with what you've done with this so far. I think my favorite part of your updated pieces are the windows, they look so shiny! can't wait to see more. :) very kind of you to let us use the finished product as well--thanks a lot!

Hello again. I took me some time, but I've made some minor progress. I barely have enough time to work now with these. I finally got a major source of inspiration for this work, and its Dark Souls 3. I've been playing it and noticed how amazing the design of the game is, most notable in High Wall of Lothric and Lothric Castle. I'll use them as main source for my work now. Its not much, but I'll full work on it on this weekend.

These works of art are pretty impressive. Some shading adjustments can be made but for the most part impressive. Most people who would play your game most likely wouldn't notice any flaws to it. Might I ask what it is you do to create such level of detail to your designs?

Hmm... I think there is a problem with making custom items in tilesets. They all look too clean and not 'SNES' / 'Genesis' enough to fit in with the other tiles. I don't know how to fix that problem but it does lead to a complete clash between the custom and the RTP / DLC (some DLC even falls for this). I think the castles (the screenshots further down) would look amazing if you could put like accurate shadows on and on the ground and maybe in the finished product mess up some of the bricks. Like bricks are not always perfect some of them has slight noches in there, slight scratches and things.

They look really nice, however make sure you keep the lighting correct:

So like:

But less crude lol

The front face would probably also have a little shadow too but that atm is less jarring.

Lighting is something you'll need to really keep in mind.

Know I've been quite critical but I'd like you to make amazing things and you asked for it :P lol

Don't forget the top parts of that castle. The smaller little pillars on the top of the castle shouldn't have the in between gap fully shaded. They would have a diagonal split of light and shadow in between at slightly different angles the more right you go.

Exactly, the lighting is certainly something that needs to be considered here. The things on the top should have lines on the left part, a sharper angle on the middle section and next to none on the right side, like a small triangle as it shadows from the sun. Think this is the main thing that needs a little work.
