You don't NEED a script, if you want you can make an area where you talk to each party members you have and change them accordingly. Also keep in mind each party member is in the database, so you can make a part member leave the party and come back later still with his equipment and level.

Hmmm, if you're using MP as a sort of fatigue, maybe account for some auto recovery during combat (a few points every turn). Unless you want some gruesome boss battles. Are the balls moving by rolling?

That's probably the most difficult, yet most rewarding system of all (imho). Think an open-world kind of game where nobody has to be killed. Then I remembered there IS a game like that: Undertale. Also, most Megaten games have non-violent options you can use sometimes (but not all the time)...

Maybe reputation and public opinion (different groups have different opinions on a topic) would be a nice start.

That's classy as hell! Loved this game, and kept listening to this soundtrack for a while. Never finished it, I think I did something wrong and I couldn't finish any quests. Also the art is so beautiful! Any of those, something you're listening to and liking a lot.
