Welp. I'm Essy, you may call me Breadcat if you like.
I'm a full time student of Computer Science who has been playing with RPG Maker for waaaaaaaaay too long.
That said I have only finished two games on my own though I have contributed to a bit too many.

I have bought MV however I would like to finish my final VXAce project before diving into MV and Javascript.
I've poured a bit too much heart and soul into the current project to simply let it be. ;D

As for programming experience I have no Javascript under my belt but I program/script in C++, C, Haskell, Go, Ruby, Python, Java, and Scheme with my level of fluency in that order.
And when I get done with my final VXAce project I'll proudly be adding Javascript somewhere into that list. :)

It'll be a pleasure being a part of this community.

Hello and welcome to the forums BreadCat (BC?) I wish I knew a fraction of the coding you know XD I hope to see you around the forums!

Nice! I studied C for fun a while ago, opened my mind for a lot of details on how computers work.

Hope you feel right at home here. There's a lot to learn about Javascript, but you'll feel right at home with the language, having some experience with other languages. I recommend you Douglas Crockford's "Javascript: The Good Parts", it's pretty much the best starting point for when you know how to read code.

Well, this is good still, Javascript should be easy peasy if you know C++, C, Ruby etc. I'm still learning it but I've come a long way in only 1month.
Anyways, welcome to our awesome community, I hope you enjoy it here and look forward to seeing you around.
Cheers :D

I speak German, English, Spanish and Japanese. Does that count, too? :P
Anyways, welcome to the forum where there's no "envy" only "MV". Man, feels good to be saying this after such a long time. People don't bother introducing themselves too much anymore. Glad to have you here. Have fun! :)

Thanks, I'll probably be lurking about for the most part.(Finals are coming up.) But after I'll be sure to participate in discussion afterward.

I'll keep my introductory thread in mind then and check it out down the line. :)

It'll probably still be a bit before I have something to show. It has a single player ABS system with two characters,
I used Pearl ABS as the base and have modded it an extreme amount.(You can hardly tell it's Pearl anymore.)
Essentially the battle system direction has been 'Rule of Cool' and the enemies/boss battles will be balanced for that accordingly.

As for story details.. You'll have to wait for a thread. ;D

Anyways, welcome to our awesome community, I hope you enjoy it here and look forward to seeing you around.
Cheers :D
Thanks a lot.

Welcome aboard the MV X-Press and holydamn that's a lot of feats to know so many codding languages :O
After awhile programming languages just become new 'dialects.'
After using C++ and Haskell for so long that I already had the fundamentals down for Python. So it took 4 hours to learn and then a day on CodeEval to get it down well.
Basically the more variety of languages that are learned with a deep understanding, the easier it is to pick up over programming languages.
Javascript looks like an Object-Oriented Imperative Language, so I'm guessing my C/C++ experience will be advantageous.

I speak German, English, Spanish and Japanese. Does that count, too? :P
Of course it does, language is how we express ideas. What's important is not the function but how new ways of conveying information can shape our own thoughts!

People don't bother introducing themselves too much anymore. Glad to have you here. Have fun! :)
Thanks, and I will. :D
