One way to do this is to create a blind actor. This means a nameless, faceless actor. Then, create an event where you can change the name of that actor. And then create a conditional branch and check that if that actor's name is x, then do y.

It means that a plugin you're using has an error or that there's something about the actor that is not initialized, as to why that error is happening.
