Alone OST - "Come out and Play"
I have one word....Epic! Not much more to say, you description says it all this is a great track, and portrays being alone and lonely exactly like you descriptions says. This could easily be used in a horror game, on a map or as the theme. Love it!
Kaimen Retro #04 - "Spice of Malice"
Your chiptunes have definitely become more melodic, more alive and yet again it sounds fantastic. You make great music Kaimen keep it up.

So... I haven't been very creative lately but I managed to finish at least one song aside from a commission I did. And that song was more of a practice than anything. I was trying out some new modes and scales and discovered harmonic minor. So... I made a desert theme. There you go.

To be honest, I'm not quite satisfied with how this song turned out. There's something that still bothers me about it but I don't know what it is. Might be the loop. Might be that I decided against adding choirs. Might be the strings. I dunno. Might rework it in the future.
[doublepost=1464816482,1462744039][/doublepost]It's time for some more examples of what I can do when I'm promised some money in return! That's right folks, these two songs here are commissions made for a game by @Nio Kasgami. Now even with proper album cover and all. :3

This song plays in certain safe areas where you're supposed to save your progress. Will it require a typewriter and ink ribbons? I don't know. I'm just the composer. Anyway, I decided to mainly use "light" instruments in this one. Harp, music box, piano, flute. Add in some choir and you've got yourself a nice lullaby-esque theme.

Yes, I know, the pun in the song's title is terrible (that is, if you even get that it's a pun in the first place...) but I couldn't think of a more fitting name for this track. This is the character theme of the Zomposer - a character that's actually based on yours truly. Yes, I'm going to make a cameo in this game and this is gonna be my theme. Gotta say, I consider this one of my best works so far. To make it sound less serious (yes, this song is still in a minor key) I used a technique I call "Kirkhope-izing". What that is, is taking a song and apply the typical Grant Kirkhope features to it like the tuba and marimba in my case. Worked out quite nicely and resulted in a very catchy tune. ^-^
[doublepost=1475542228][/doublepost]I just realized that I never posted this song that I made for a resource pack on another forum. Anyway, better late than never, I suppose. :)

I don't know why but for some reason it's always been easier for me to compose these heavy, dark and sad sounding kinds of songs. This one is one of them. And I'm quite fond of it, too. I like how it turned out even if it's fairly simple.

By the way, I'd appreciate some more feedback by people who haven't told me their opinions yet. It'd just be nice to hear some more thoughts on my work (and also, those triple and quadruple posts by me in here get frustrating XD). ^-^

@Kaimen ...

I've not listened to 'em all (there's a lot of 'em..!), but enjoyed all the pieces on this page. It's what I call 'Goldilocks', which means it's neither too rich nor too sparse, but 'just right' (yes, that's a compliment...). Obviously the BGM has to fit the ambience of the Game for which it's chosen; your works could fit into several genres without conflict. Well executed, well mixed, well produced; these are pretty high standard works. I'd put a slight damper on the uber-sub effects on the latest track, but that's probably just a matter of taste, of which I'm sorely lacking, I'm afraid.
Yes, I agree with one of the comments on a Soundcloud track: It is often a good ploy to have an 'AABA' structure or similar, to modulate, or have a 'middle eight', or bridge. This keeps the listener engaged, even subconsciously, and reduces fatigue, which is always a danger with BGM which is largely destined to repeat. Your pieces are short, which is a Good Thing from the load-time or memory usage point of view, but it is, in many cases, entirely permissible to extend to 5-6 minutes for some uses (wandering through an extensive Overworld, for instance...).
Altogether fine stuff, I say. Sadly, I'm unlikely to need to commission, as I dabble, myself, in the Dark Art of composition for my own modest Projects, but the quality of the pieces presented here testify to your competence, which deserves to attract others in need.
Thanks for sharing; keep it coming...

Retro dungeon theme, anyone?
Yeah, so I'm planning on releasing a retro music pack complete with town, battle, dungeon and various other themes. I still have to decide whether to make it free or not - I'll let that depend on my financial situation when everything's done. But for now: MUSIC! :D

Not too long ago I bought what I believe to be the best retro instrument collection out there, Super Audio Cart and I've been experimenting with it a little. This somewhat short dungeon theme is the first song I composed using those new retro sounds. And I gotta say, they don't disappoint! And yes, all my retro themes made with this are gonna have extravagant names like this one does. :)

After a "basic" retro dungeon theme, I now present you the first theme of my retro dungeon theme collection that I am currently working on. What kind of collection will it be? It'll contain a variety of different-themed dungeon/temple songs for all your RPG and adventure needs. And we're starting off the show with a fire temple theme (which could also be used for a desert-themed area)!

I have to say, I really love the sound of harmonic minor. Your go-to scale if you want something to sound like a desert etc.
I have to say, I'm quite proud of this one. Took me some time of finish but I'm satisfied with the result. I hope you will be too. ^-^

It's update time. I've been incapacitated for quite a while now and I'm still not fully healed. However, that doesn't stop me from doing the things that I like! And that's why I've finished another one of my retro dungeon themes~!

I've had this in the works for quite some time because of what was going on between the end of December and now, but now I've finally finished it! It's an ice dungeon theme! And as you can see, I'm trying to keep the wacky naming pattern for my retro themes. ^-^
[doublepost=1485478331,1485127271][/doublepost]Double post update go!
I've finished yet another retro theme. It's a short and sweet one this time that I made just today in a couple of hours. I think it turned out pretty decent though.

Imagine a futuristic-looking dungeon. One that doesn't look like your typical Zelda temple. A place full of metal and wires - this is what this theme is. A futuristic dungeon theme~!
[doublepost=1486019318][/doublepost]Uh... triple post update go?
Anyway, "I wanna use synths more"; that's what I thought a couple of days ago. And, well, this is the first result of that mood I'm in. I didn't really have a plan or anything specific in mind when I made this. I just dabbled around in FL and this is the result. :D

Let me know what you think of it and if you can think of something where this might fit. I'm curious as to what you think this sounds like. ^-^

And here I was looking around for additional Music. I'm really strict when it comes to music because I always look for something specific. I decided to drop by and listen to a few and realized "Well S*** this is exactly what I needed" Way to go. This is absolutely amazing

Important announcement: I am not dead (yet...)! Just a lot of busy at the moment with little time to work on music. I got something for you however - it's an update with probably my favourite battle theme I have made so far~

Made that as a commission long ago. Actually my first attempt at a more jazzy battle theme. Personally, I think maybe I could've done better but I'm pretty satisfied with it regardless. Let me know what you guys think! ^-^

@Prime Games I don't think I ever properly thanked you for your kind words. I am really proud that my music is actually of some use to people. Nothing makes me happier than people using my work for their project - whether it's stock audio or a commission, doesn't matter, I'm still proud! :)
[doublepost=1495128101,1494613792][/doublepost]Okay, I usually don't share drafts or unfinished pieces. At least I don't do it very often. But this one I just want to show you guys because I'm so excited about it! (cat)

Heck yeah, I'm finally doing what I've been wanting to do for a LONG ASS time - I'm composing my own Pokémon-style battle theme! And here's a little taste of what it's gonna sound like. I'm already liking it~! What do you guys think?

I know you like the retro stuff~! Just wait until it's done! ^-^

There's also something else I'd like to share. Maybe you've already come across this in the resource section.
So yeah, this one was originally a commission I had made but it was never claimed. The client just seems to have vanished or something. Anyway, what ever it may be I'm gonna share this with you guys now because I don't want it to go to waste. :3
[doublepost=1496276422,1495243214][/doublepost]Now that I'm done with my internship I have more time for composing again and I came up with something for the battle theme contest on here. I'm just happy that there's finally a music contest and I'm glad I got this done in time! XD

To be honest, this one barely sounds like a regular battle theme and more like a mini boss or boss theme. I might've made it a little bit too dramatic but I still like it~!
[doublepost=1496950647][/doublepost]Update time~! I still have a huge number of drafts flying around in my projects folder but I made something new anyway! XD

Yeah, I haven't really made anything jazzy in a while and I felt like composing something jazzy so here you go! I made this in just a few hours which means it's not too complicated or extravagant. Just a simple, mysterious-sounding jazz tune~! ^-^
[doublepost=1503612017][/doublepost]Long time since I've last updated. Been quite busy and didn't have much time to compose. And I still have like 15 drafts lying around that I need to finish. Sadly, this was not one of those drafts. No, I started this two days ago and finished it today. Oddly enough, this is my first song that's in a 6/8 measure. Yeah, I've never done that before in four years of composing. Go figure.

[doublepost=1504723980][/doublepost]I really like the fact that I always seem to get an inspirational boost when I buy new instruments. Like this time. I got some new orchestral instruments from NI and wanted to test them out - and this is the result.

I finished something I started way, way back. Again. I'm still really surprised that I actually finish the drafts I start. Like this one here that uses an Arabian-type scale which, I admit, I'm very fond of~!
[doublepost=1508177220,1506531749][/doublepost]Hoo boy, I finally got around to finishing this. I started this months ago and posted a draft of this way back when and now I got it done. It's not very long or particularly sophisticated but it is my very own Pokémon-style battle theme that I've been wanting to compose for such a long time. Enjoy~! :3
[doublepost=1509400018][/doublepost]I made a Halloween thingy! And I just realised that, because of my name change, I have to go through all the Soundcloud links here and change the URLs. What a pain~

Anyway, let me know what you think about this eerie piece!
[doublepost=1510448477][/doublepost]Whew, I finally got around to updating all the links in here. Name changes online are sure a lot of work. Anyway, some songs will be unavailable regardless since I have removed them from my Soundcloud in an effort to tidy up. Mostly previews and WIPs so don't worry~!
[doublepost=1513569084][/doublepost]Okay, so: I'm not dead, I have been working on stuff. I'm just holding it back because I wanna release a little pack actually. This one here is not gonna be part of it, so I'm gonna showcase it. I made this for one of my favourite LPers/streamers to use for her chillout streams (dunno if she's gonna use it yet, but I made it regardless). This was actually my first attempt at a "genuine" jazzy tune. And by that I mean this is the first time I actually used jazz chords. XD

Anyway, have a listen and maybe a hot beverage to go with it~
[doublepost=1516475700][/doublepost]Alrighty, I haven't been posting something in a long time despite composing like six different songs in the meantime. Some of those need to be kept in the back because Resource Team and the others... well, I have a plan for those. Sorta. Anyways, this post is about my latest diddy - just finished today!

This is somewhat loosely based on them old Persona games' map themes. I say "somewhat loosely" because I didn't intend it to sound like them. That's just the way it came out I think. I just built a song over that beat there~ XD

These are very nice. I don't usually mess with the sound in my game til the very end, but a few of these will work nicely with what I'm working on at the moment.

I'm happy to hear that! Just know though, that not all of these are readily available as resources because this is mostly a showcase of my skills. But if you need any of the songs that aren't available as a resource, I'll gladly provide you with them~
[doublepost=1516686840,1516551801][/doublepost]So... about a week or so ago I decided to pick up YouTube again and started uploading some of my soundtrack remakes there. Today I uploaded my first original song to my channel - and it's not one that I've shared before, no-ho! I've been reluctant to publish this one for about two months now because it's part of a series that's not quite done yet. Have a listen!

"Palace of Tides" is the first song of my temple series. Basically, all of these songs are inspired by The Legend of Zelda's temples. Now, I'm not trying to imitate that music style. What I'm trying to do is captivate the essence of those temples in my own style. And the water temple marks the beginning (because it would be too much like Zelda if I started with the forest temple aaaaaand because the forest temple theme isn't done yet XD)!

Zebestian

That's really good. It does remind me Zelda (which is a series I absolutely love!!!!).
Why thank you! While I didn't really want to recreate the exact Zelda style, I did want to make people get reminded of Zelda when they listen to these songs. And as long as that worked I'm happy~
[doublepost=1517154155,1516720010][/doublepost]Time for more temple! Something more hot sounding this time. Yes, it's time for my fire temple theme!

[doublepost=1518308896][/doublepost]Welp, looks like I totally forgot to update this thread when I posted my last couple tracks on YouTube. XD
So here's a little forest-y theme I made!
