I've been reading around the community that the latest MV 1.5 and it's Pixi 4.4.1 is causing problems with all Android ports. I never looked into the problem much but it seems Pixi is causing the games to crash on boot.

It really all depends on what type of battle system you're looking to achieve. If you're a programmer you should be able to create your own system no problem. You can start from scratch and override the normal Battle scene with your own battle scene and mechanics. Maybe a bit more info on what...

There are not plugin currently like this and it would require a bit of work to develop it. I'm not sure if you'll find someone to do it for free but you never know.

An online data file or a local file? Online data will require you to have a cloud (firebase, heroku) to store and pull data from. A local file is much simpler as your just reading from a local JSON file and saving to it.
