I know, and in a way it saddens me. I feel like with software like this people need to let the bugs get ironed out first before tearing it a new hole. I've had more fun in MV than I ever did with VXAce already. But I understand that's just me. I just hope Degica can manage to fix the program and get the rest of the database assets out before it is too late to save RPG Maker MV. People HATED the original VX if I remember right.

For the VX, I found the engine very lackluster, having far less resources than XP XD But that's just me haha
I didn't even get the original VX, when I heard about the map limit I refused to grab it. I did get VXAce though obviously. I just think when all the assets and bugs are ironed out from this MV launch, it will be better, and hopefully be looked at in better light.

I'm rather disappointed as well.
Buggy.
Some things were changed that did not need changed.
The way plugin's are implemented is a pain, and there is a lot of room for human error.
One recent thing that bugs the hell out of me is how window frames work, rather than repeating upper and lower and right and left parts of the frame, it instead chooses to stretch the hell out of them, so any design i come up with for window frames looks like crap.
There are plugins Ace has that showed up on DAY ONE! that are missing from MV.
No one has even made a proper pointer cursor plugin, we're stuck with that ugly as hell black box cursor.
I'm a stickler for visuals as well as presentation, and MV is lacking plugins for such things.
And rather than visual enhancements, there are tons of scripts that focus on battle elements...
I'm a designer, and an artist and a story teller first... game designer a distant second...
And MV is pissing me off and making me want to run back to Ace...

I think I'm more bummed out due to the issue of exporting a browser game (HTML5). My project would be much better with the visitors to my website getting to experience quick demos and updates firsthand rather than me just uploading a video of myself or my children playing it.

The mobile app exporting is also a bummer. I mean, I'm literally working on a game with my 11 and 9 year old daughters...this software is supposed to be simple enough for them to use but...this version needs a few updates and hopefully that'll help it.

Maybe you where expecting something one-click. At the moment that is not possible, every mobile app developer knows this at least.

Well, for us the game doesn't load in any browser. Another step involved? As far as exporting to mobile apps, yes, we we're expecting something one-click or at least something that takes place all within the RPG Maker program. #wishfulthinking

And i DON'T mean mouse pointer!!
I mean like a hand pointing to the right like final fantasy.
Or a small diamond where if you press left right up down what ever it moves around pointing at words.
I don't mean mouse related.
No, i mean like this.

Or like in this mockup.

I'm not speaking of the plugins for mouse related junk.
Sorry for being snappy... i have not slept yet...

Oh you mean menu cursor? That's simple, you just edit the window image file in the system folder and add it. That's all.

Ugh.. wrong thread and or section for this stuff anyhow...
Look, all i know is that Ace has a few scripts.. one most notable one is from Victor Saint called Arrow Cursor, and you can make it animated and what not and so on and so forth, and so far no one has made a script like it for MV, in fact Arrow Cursor was one of the VERY first VS had made.
I'm wanting a similar one for MV.
Anyhow... let's move on.. i rather not get into the kind of trouble here that i get into over at RMW...

No worries, I know what you talking about and my answer, while simple and requiring no plugins would end up messy probably because if you did it that way there's the chance it would stretch depending on the length of the choice being highlighted anyway.

What I had meant to say (just to clear up any confusion for archival reasoning) is you want to replace the box that highlights a choice in the menu with a pointer or arrow of some kind, like Final Fantasy has. My answer was add a small pointer onto like the left side or top of the window graphic (where the text boxes and text draw their colors/graphics from) and it would display instead of the box. But it is messy, and I'm sure we'll see a plugin for it within a week. Pointer/arrows are more popular than highlight boxes, so my best advice is to just be patient.

Remember, VX Ace used the same scripting as VX, so many scripts were available day one because they required the absolute minimum of changes from VX to work on Ace. MV is a new language entirely, so plugins have to be written in the new language, which takes a bit of time. I get your frustration though, but that's how a new language is, just need to wait or make it yourself I'm afraid. But yes, let's move on, and talk about other things. I hope my responses didn't come off as angry or anything as it wasn't my intent. :)

Then i can not show you that, missunderstood you. Is this something you would like to have? it is quite easy to make.
I have a few projects in line now, but i can make it for you if it is needed! ;)

I personally have never been good at creating art myself from scratch but I have always been good at altering artsets and making them my own . I plan to improve upon the char generator soon and uploading resources to give more selections for everyone.
I can create art from scratch. The only actual problem with this is that a lot of times it's just a hassle. It can be done yes. Is it tedious? Yes. Not always exciting to create things from scratch. What we do need here is a resource base that can be added into the character generator. I wouldn't mind making small sets of 1 item at a time like hair or something but even then it's a bit of a hassle vs my laziness.

RMMV has some disappointments and adjustments that could be made easy but it's not a complete set after all, it's just a basic engine. Maybe we should put together a team that would edit the features of RMMV and create a more enhanced version for basic template projects.

Yes, Sir! Each save file appears with the project title name by default. I want to remove this name and leave it blank.
Oh.. i though the actual filename.. well.. the there should not be any problem fixing this. Send me a PM or make a request on the forum and tag me, my TODO list keeps getting larger and larger ;)
