I would PM them and warn them to whatever rules they broke. If they still continue I will take whatever necessary actions I need to.

If you were to see two forum member's in a heated argument, but both of them were "right" how would you calm down the situation?

How would you handle mod hate? Supposing some members don't think you're able to do your job. Supposing you caught wind of that, whether out of or IN the forums. These members are simply stating their opinions without breaking rules. No other mod or admin has taken action against the member(s).

How would you handle this situation?

What is your daily schedule like?
I'm not looking for the small details, more like, current job hours per day, music making hours, game dev hours, Resource team hours, etc etc. I would like to know what the "mod to be" day is filled with, it will be nice to see how much time can be truly dedicated to the community.

Another question related to previous one.

What is the priority you have for your schedule?
Now most people will obviously say, your real life job is #1 priority, and it should be, but after that, how do you like to prioritize everything else on your schedule, is it random, or do you do it the same everyday.

Now if you become a moderator, how will you prioritize your schedule?

Now for a bit of fun. I want to see a general PM you would make to a member. A rule has been broken, lets pick rule #1, it has been broken by a member and now you need to PM them letting them know the rule was broken. Let us see it (cheeky)

That should be good for now, may not be the best questions but I'm saving those ones for later .

Do you proofread your own posts?
I try to make my posts as readable as possible, I try to make sure i spelt words correctly, I admit i do not have the best grammar or punctuation, but i cannot help that.

I would ask them politely to stop arguing and to try and get along, as this is a forum and we should all try to get along.

People are entitled to their own opinions if they don't think i am able to handle my job that is their opinion I cannot stop them from saying things about that.

I have no schedule, i visit the forums probably most the day every day, i also can visit on my phone so I can visit while on the go. The forums is the first thing i do when i wake up :P and the last thing i do before i go bed.

'membername, I would kindly ask you to stop spamming, as you are breaking the number 1 rule on the forums.
thanks'

I tend to like to keep my PM's short as not alot of people like reading long messages :P

A member of the forum is focused on politics, religion, ect... but it is their own opinion... however their posts have people mixed with their own beliefs and has been upsetting a few of the other members for making the forum awkward. How would you handle this situation even though they aren't technically breaking any rules?

There is a major issue in the forum; however, not many members have seemed to notice it yet. There are a few ways that could resolve the issue, but no one seems to take the issue seriously because it's not detrimental at the moment... but will cause a lot of problems later on. How would you bring about a way to resolve this issue that only a few people seemed to have noticed.

A family emergency happens and you have to be away from the forums for awhile, what are the exact steps you'd take to let everyone know that you'll have to be away for awhile?

The family emergency takes longer than expected, but you only have a limited time online. Where is the one place you'd post?

concerning the first question I would ask them kindly to keep politics of the forums, as we are a gaming, game making community which has nothing to do with politics etc.

2) if I do ever have an family emergency and need to be off the forum, i would pm any other mod that i would be away from the forums for awhile, and if i am longer than usual i would update the mod i pmed and tell them I will be much longer than i realised.

I tend to try and keep my personal life away from the forums and only tell the people I trust, and some of them are mods. :P

Q: If you acted reasonably against a member (Gave the appropriate punishment) and then the user started complaining (wrongly) that they were being treated unfairly and that they didn't do anything wrong, what would you do?

So, I start a discussion about religion. I start this discussion to learn more about the different religion, faiths and beliefs in our world. I might occasionally even ask a rather critical question - intended to be respectful, but just to gather more information. I can then use this information to inspire me to write some fictional religions, faiths and beliefs for in my game or in the background information I like to have about the world I'm creating. Now, things turn out of hand and the posts starts to become more and more upsetting to people with strong beliefs. I try to keep things respectful, but without much effect.

What would you do?

More specifically, I'd like to know:
Would you tell me I was wrong to start the discussion publicly here on a (read: the) RM forum?

I would ask the member that I gave the right punishment and if he continues I will ask admin/mod for help

No i wouldn't say you was wrong, I would ask them to calm down that this is a disccusion for a game, and not about real life. That not to take the discussion to heart and if they don't like what is written that they don't need to read it.

> A member is obviously angry with you, but is very passive-aggressive about it over the forums. None of their posts look mean/angry to other users or staff members, however. What do you do to resolve this?

> Rank these in order of importance (as they apply to this forum), and explain your reasoning: greeting members, following rules, keeping active, participating in events. I won’t accept an answer of “all are equally important”, however, you can explain to me why you think they should or should not be.

> A member starts hijacking a thread with their own questions and ideas - what do you do, and how?

> A member goes off into an off-topic tangent, but makes one relevant comment at the bottom of their post. How do you respond to this?

> A member keeps typing in ALL CAPS or 1337 5p34k, and members are starting to complain. What do you do, and how?

> A member is obviously responding to several posts just to up their post count, but their posts aren’t technically spam. How do you respond to this?

> You find out that some members are saying nasty things about you over IM. What do you do about this?

> You notice that an RT member isn’t being very friendly, but is still submitting their work on time. At what point do you contact their team leader with your concerns?

> What do you do to help a member who speaks very little English?

> BONUS: What is my favorite dinosaur? Note: I honestly don’t remember if you can find this information on the forum.

1) I will ask them kindly why they are being like that to me and ask them to please stop.

2)
Following rules
keeping active
greeting members
participating in events

because the forum rules are the most important, keeping active is 2nd, as we need active members, not lurkers. Greeting members is always nice but it isn't required, participating in events, is not overly important as not everyone can make it to all events.

3) I would ask kindly for them to create their own thread about their ideas and questions as it isn't relevant to the post.

4) I would tell them that their post is not on topic, and that they need to write more relevant posts about topic, other than one line they had.

5)I would remove their posts and ban them, as that is not what this forums needs.

6) well if it aint spamming, then there aint anything we can do, I think we only do something about it if we see it as spam.

7)I wouldn't do anything, if someone wants to talk about other members behind their backs be my guest just don't bring it to the forums.

8)I Would contact them as soon as I can and tell them that a member of theirs is not being very friendly.

9)I would try and help him to better his English, even if I aint, or I would try and find a fellow member who speaks the same language but is also a good English speaker to help out :)

10) your favorite dinosaur is a T-Rex u draw it all the time :P

A member who has been known to be a troublemaker has gotten everyone stirred up, but overall he is correct with what he's saying. However he has been coming across as a jerk and no one is seeming to listen to him about something important. Will you side with him and risk looking like a bad mod, side with everyone else and cause yourself to look better, or try to find a solution to have everyone understand his side of the situation while trying to have him calm down because of the rude way he speaks but having the possibility that both parties won't take you seriously.

I will try and solve it so they all will get along, try and get them to understand what he is saying. being a mod aint about taking sides or who is right, its about trying to make this forum better for everyone :)

What? You thought I was done with just one list?

> Under what circumstances would you ban a member instantly?

> You’re unsure of how many warning points to assign a member. What do you do?

> Do you think you will have any problems giving out a warn or ban? It’s easy to say you’ll do it, but will you have any hesitation?

> You and another staff member disagree on how to interpret a rule. How and where do you discuss this?

> How will you prioritize looking through the forum? Will you look at everything, or try and focus on one section?

> You ask 2 members to take a discussion into PM, but they refuse, and direct their anger at you. What happens next?

1) they constantly kept breaking rules

2)I would, but if i had to would do it.

3)I would do everything in my power to resolve the issue.

4)I would PM the admins and they can get right on it as soon as they can

5)I would discuss it with them Via Pm and ask an opinion from another Mod as well.

6)try and focus on one section as a time.

7)would delete their posts till they take it to PM, then if they refuse will ban them.

8)ban him again, he didnt follow rules the first time and he just makin an alt to pretend to be someone else, that doesn't deserve to be here, if His account is banned he can't use alts

9) um snail, snake, spiders

This person has done much more than what is expected from a typical member. An example is that they helped many people solve RM challenges, showing easy to understand instructions, screenshots, etc. This person is usually quiet and unheard from. Hope that helps a little. :)
