Hello everyone,

sometimes I wonder what are the biggest problems that people in RPG Maker MV encounter. It does not matter whether you develop a plugin, outer stuff for MV, or if you just useing MV in generall. We all have some Problems from time to time.

For me as an Example it is if I finde a Plugin taht can not use beause it is not in English it is in the native Speash of the chreator and not ever there is an outher one that has this functions in it.

What is for you generally the biggest problem when you working with MV?

Asking why RPG Maker MV has not evolved from the Ace design considering how successful the last one was. That JP developer should've had tons of money to actually be braver on taking risks on improving the UI. Not playing it safe and move it to a new structure that sorely is incompatible.

You mean because you do not know if the function will come back or not.

No. I said Improving the UI. There's a so many ways that RPG Maker MV should have had evolved.

Here's one example, event templates. Instead of restricting us to 4 quick events only, why not add a window where you can create your OWN Quick Create Templates?

The Database could've been improved so much as well into being more dynamic. Instead of a static list, make it moveable but don't change the ID. Let us sort them into folders so we don't get a rigid structure and if we miss things, either we put it at the very bottom or just arrange everything again and fix all our event commands.

How about free reign tile grids? 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 and 64x64? KDKW could've easily done that!

They have QT Engine that allows you to create programs where you can apply changes to the UI. It could've been as strong as Unity but it isn't. That's my biggest problem with it.

The only issue that I can think of off the bat is when I started playing with the character generator- I found the method of export confusing, and it took me a while lurking tutorials to figure out how to put more than one character on a character sheet- since wasting a sheet with one character when it could have eight was kind of pointless to me. It kinds of irks me to a degree that it can't be merged like I do with Game Character Hub, but once I found out it was doable...At least it was better. It's still annoyingly tedious. But I'm also just lazy.

I agree with wat you said about the database and the User Interface, it really needs some improvements in both functionality and Dynamics as well. I really hope that they will eventually do so, bcause RPG Maker is no longer used just for old School looking games.

You meant also that it should be as strong as Unity is, or Close to it, if that would be the case could those of us who still use older computers, the maker no longer use.

My biggest problem is with copying and pasting events. In the game I'm currently working on, I have enemy encounters as events and I spent a day having to redo them all because I erroneously believed they were instances and NOT the same objects. I'm now using that as an effect in my overworld, but it stinks not having the capability to at least set a flag to make it a new instance.

My biggest issue..? I only have two, really, so I'll express them as tied, equal, joint winners. We can select a zone as decor on a Map and duplicate it, using the 'rubber-band' method. I would like to be able to do the same when in Event Mode, drawing a 'rubber-band' around a series of Events to be pasted elsewhere. As things stand, I have to copy each Event separately.
The other is a pain, too. We are now able to select Commands in the Contents window of an Event, and copy as either Text or HTML. That's a very nice feature, and is appreciated. I would ask for more, however, in having the inverse possibility: being able to copy Text and paste it into the Contents window. I have many Events which have code which is quite similar, and could easily modify using simple word processing, then paste the results directly into MV. Obviously, the syntax would have to be correct, but I find it laborious to have to open each Text Box and change just a word or two, close it, open the next, modify, close, open the next... You get the idea. It so happens that I'm currently going over several parts of my Project and updating many, many events, mostly in a similar fashion each. A word processor functionality may be too much to ask for, but if I could only paste my code directly into the Contents window, I'd avoid the possibility of error and speed up enormously my work.
There, that's my tuppence-worth. I feel so much better now with that off my chest. Phew..! Almost elation..! Wow, just giddiness..!

I wish for a return of the old "click in an autorile with the right key combination (don't remember it right now) and you can use any form of that autotile you want", instead of relying on making a copy somewhere useless and shift-click...

Did you ever tried the plugin event spans? This could be a way to fix taht. It spans your events in eny X and Y direction that you want to have it.

@consolcwby

I'm not quite sure, but for me it sounds like you do not know how to open 2 projects at the same time. If this is the case, there is a relatively easy way.
Ovens your current project with the Editor, then open with the Explorers the Folder of your other Project from which you want to transfer the Events and openable this with the Editor as well. So you can transfer your events without that you should have problems.

But make sure that you have the animations and graphics you want to use in both projects.

I'm not sure that we're addressing the same problem here (could be wrong...). I was meaning copying events all at once by pulling a 'rubber band' around them with a right click, as we can do for a Tile region. I may have a zone with a dozen Events to copy, either to the same Map in another corner, or on another Map. Copying one by one works, but can be fastidious. I don't know how a plugin would help with that.
You may be meaning 'extending the range of an Event' during the Game..? That could be useful; do you have a link to such a plugin, please, for future reference..?

It seems that RPG Maker this feature unsupported whatever reason so you can select only one event at the time to coppy it. This can be very annoying. Maybe they make an update in which the issue is resolved so that we can selct Events like regions.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding, it seems Google has problems with translating long Texts.

I've a few issues with RPG maker MV, though I like this program a lot.

1: The editor itself could have had a 32x32 grid option, perhaps allow you to draw event tiles rather than sticking to the grid.

2: Not translating parallax maps well, often enhancing contrast.
It requires you to use ratio's by the power of 2 (Even then it just doesn't translate them as well as ace did).

3: Build in map shot is lackluster.

4: No XP like RPT, creating XP like tiles out of this RTP is just annoying busy work.

I agree, Map Shot could've been a heap better. It would be nice if one could simply export a map as a true-size PNG, rather than as a small image that really isn't good for anything.

In addition, it would have been really great if they incorporated a database printing option, so that you could print out and easily see all the info in your database.
