I have a Star Wars-inspired idea that I'm working on with Quisira2012 (if you couldn't tell by the name) ;p.

This is the story about Lars. Lars is a "Jedda". A "Jedda" is a person who strongly belives he/she is a Jedi. He dresses like one, talks like one and even carrying a lightsaber. For an ordinary person, it can be difficult to tell the difference between a Jedi and Jedda. A Jedda don't have any special skills like the "mind trick", He thinks he has, but he hasn't.

The idea of this game is that it supposed to be fun, not only if you are a Star Wars fan. I won't tell you much about the main story as I don't want to spoil anything.

Anyone with experience of making a humor driven game in RM?

okay as time goes on i would like to make a special cameo in this wonderful game idea you have.
i can be something as small as a "easter egg" or a companion or even a evil... muahaha villain
if i can jolt down some mini ideas. i would be the evil overlord impersonator... Cloud Vadar!!! (spelled just like that)
who like your character doesn't have any power's just dresses like vador, talk's like vador, and has a red lightsabor.
but the difference is i'm actually good with the lightsabor and has skills with it also having a mini fan following where solder's would do battle with me for me.
but then i get found by either the hero! or by the real vador and i get sent off to "rehabilitation" and never heard from again

or you can just do whateever you want with me and make me apart of the game if ur willing.

Oh, me me!

Make Lars utterly convinced of his own Jedi-ness! And when people try to tell him otherwise, he makes up some excuse he fully believes in that sounds absolutely ridiculous, make him as hoity-toity as can be.

If you feel you can, maybe have a section close to the endgame where he has to face the fact he isn't, then some girl, possibly the love interest or w/e, tells him that regardless of his genes, he's a Jedi to her, and he's gotten this far, so who is to say he isn't?

Then he regains his confidence in a reformed manner, and grows respect for the girl, and then pledges to do what he must.

Maybe the end boss could actually be a Jedi rather than a Sith, and when he defeats the Jedi Master, he is lauded as a Jedi even without the weird fiscal mutation that I can't remember how it was described.

Then the Sith come and are like "Yo guys wanna party?" and the game ends with a large cantina band play off to the Sith Jedi and regular inn fellows Watching The Empire strikes back while sipping martini's etc.

Well there's my hat in the ring, anyway. I'm just brainstorming a little.

I think the idea for this game is awesome, and hilarious.

How will you get around the need to rely on the force to wield a lightsaber? Or am I wrong about that. I know the weapon makes it easy to chop your face off.

Love the idea. I think you have some very clever wordplay going on, and I would encourage you to keep introducing those great Star Wars parody-type semantics!

I don't have a ton of experience with MAKING humorous games, however I've dabbled in the study of humor in various situations - video games and interactive media being a couple of those cases. The key, really, is this: you have to make it really, really unexpected. Whether it's a really out-of-character quirk (an eloquent speaker having really silly exclamations), a completely uncalled for event (a person pops their head out of a chimney and starts dancing on the roof), or a ridiculous [generally unfortunate for the protagonist] story component (you have to obtain a very gross item from a pretty gross character). Just some ideas!

I thank you for all the suggestions! ^__^

'Normal' people don't use them because they are too difficult, and too obsolete in most people's hands.
While it is true that non-force attuned people physically CAN use light sabers, they generally avoid it because they are dangerous and not worth it in the end. Add to that the fact that all of the really cool things about light sabers (deflecting blaster bolts etc) generally come from force-influenced reflexes and so at its best in a normal persons hands its a glowing sword in a world filled with guns.

But Lars is a Jedda, and one hell of a lucky one!

I know it will be really hard to make the game just like I imagine it. But I'm grateful for all the advice I can get. I'll continue to put up posts how the game progresses.

I'm all for humorous games but I don't like it when the joke's "in your face" that much. I'm more a fan of subtle references and allusions rather than point blank satire. However... as a Star Wars fan I highly approve of this idea and I might keep an eye out for your project in the future. Best of luck! :)

Thank you Kaimen. I will do my best to make the game experience something unique.
