Like a falling star! Get it?

Anyhow, I'm Sinnistar, lead developer of Sen Rufu Studios and War of the Wolf Games. I look forward to meeting some awesome people who are skilled with this stuff moreso than myself. I'm still new to the new engine, but have done quite a bit of work with other earlier versions.

I find myself enjoying making events most, and I find odd ways of making them work. If you want to see my first project (I literally just finished the final version today! Needs testing though on my half), I have a playable demo available. (Have to reupload it due to some slight changes that needed to be made to make it more clear, so it will be version 1.2 now when I finish that.) I'll post the link once done too, so you guys can check it out and let me know what you think on it!

(I'm also quite willing to collaborate with others should they have need of "moderate" eventing skills. Hit me up with a message if you want my help with anything, if I can do it I'll help out!)

xD I have already made use of that demo section with my first project. It still has a few things I need to get situated, but the game is actually completed now with it's rough draft. Now it's down to refining and stylizing heh. (It is simple so it literally only took about a month, but I was very determined and inspired the whole way so it just kept getting better as it went!)

I'd say my methods for eventing is....odd heh....some things that don't look like they'd make sense actually worked out well for me. At one point, I have a level where you have to get rope, a bucket, and a hammer. Use the hammer to break down a pillar blocking a stream of water. The water then floods the map, enters the well, and you can fill the bucket with water to put out nearby fires. I'm surprised it works as well as it does because I had no idea what I was doing....but it actually worked lol.

Thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to being part of this community!

Welcome to the forums, @Sinnistar!

I always enjoy hearing the logic behind eventing, though I still struggle with it myself, lol. I hope you enjoy yourself here, and I'll be sure and check out some of your work!

Yeah, there's usually like 50 ways to do one event, something simple even like switches o.o (I do a two step switch process, so it's odd compared to someone doing a 6 step one or such). I just don't like doing it the lengthy way heh. My way works most the time on stuff so I find it fun. You'll catch on eventually too, it's pretty easy once you learn most of the basics behind it. I will enjoy it here xP Always liked being able to help others and get help with projects from their communities. If you do decide to check em out, lemme know what ya think! I do already have a demo for my first project too.

Hello and welcome to our forum @Sinnistar ~ Nice to see you have fun eventing. I love it too but I'm more busy with mapping and making art in my project before i can start with the events (cry) Might check your demo tomorrow (bc today is Christmas lol). However, nice to see you around and have fun here. Happy holidays (blush)

Welcome @Sinnistar, yeah I saw your demo in the testing demos section. I had to shut mine down and start from scratch... I lost my data. However I'll go ahead and play yours!

Thanks! Happy Holidays to you too. I like doing the mapping too, but I am definitely not too great at making original maps that look amazing. Most of my maps are pretty clear that they lack that extra appearance sadly. I wish I could figure out parallaxing though, as that would be amazing to do.

Thanks! And that sucks. I've had to recently shut down my VX Ace project I had going for a couple months because I just didn't know where to go from there on it. I did however make a Wendigo sprite for it heh, and it turned out alright for my first attempt at spriting. I might post that up somewhere so someone can refine it and make it suited for MV as well. Currently it's a pretty generic looking VX Ace sprite.

Let me know if you like my demo! Anyone who plays it and gives feedback, I'll give a finished copy of the final full game. (The beginning to end is complete, just need to refine and add in other things like animated title and game over screens. I may also change the soundtrack if I can get someone to make a more "suiting" theme for it. As it is now, they are randomly chosen BGMs that I though would work together.)

Thanks! I think I'ma post my ghost sprites later today heh. I'ma make a full set of like 20 sprites that are tranlucent for that reason. Might use them in a different project of mine in the future.
