Okay so, my project is based off the old Chinese novel, "Journey to the West", which is about a priest and his 3 disciples traveling to collect Indian sutras to redeem humanity.

(tl;dr versionThe game starts out in a rather modern setting, but through exploration and divination, Kenji, our main hero, is "coerced" into traveling to the other, less developed, continents of the world to locate and retrieve these books to save this "World Pillar" and the rest of the world.) Our hero Kenji isn't really anyone special, just someone trying to get by, as a young adult should. One day, exploring outside the city walls that he's come to know as a home, he discovers this strange ruin. Through an accidental "divination" with one of the heavenly bodies, it is discovered that there is a large tree called the World Pillar, and it acts as a pillar that hold the heavens above the world of mortals. As the years have passed, the tree has steadily grown weaker and weaker, and darker forces have started to take notice. With the destruction of the World Pillar, the land is theirs for the taking. This divination is initially dismissed as just a strange hallucination, and Kenji attempts to return to his normal lifestyle. However, fate rears its ugly head forces Kenji to travel out and find special tomes, in the hopes of restoring the World Pillar to its former strength.

I'm not asking for much, because I'm finding this more to be a pet project rather than something to wholeheartedly dedicate all my time to(I have 6 months away from home, I think I have a decent amount of time to work on this).

A scripter/plot developer/someone to bounce ideas off of would be most preferred, but honestly, I would take whatever help I can get. Thank you, for whatever I can get!

EDIT: Luckily, some of my portraits came in!

If anyone is still interested, please PM me!

Woah I haven't seen this at all, sorry xD

That's a good basic concept you have there, I like that it has modern setting and it's not something completely explained because of "MAGIC". I could see the protagonist behaving like a teenager in puberty pretending to be an adult xD (Don't ask me why, just my impression) and his siblings/family being like "No, you're a small child" and him being pissed about it. You can do a lot with this concept as base. I'm looking forward to seeing the ruins on maps because it's like everytime I want to make a new project I go all "M'awhh I wanna do something with a desert or ruins <3"

EDIT: Sorry, I'm tired xD

hmmmm... I see, journey to the west. Alright, there are aspects of this concept that can be emphasized.
I would love, if the supporting character can be fleshed out more in the concept, Journey to the west is a famous
literature because of the adventures and interaction between monk (priest), monkey and pig, In journey to the
west, character is more important than story concept.

I would also recommend making at least one unique personality in each of the character, like, monkey is playful, monk is wise, pig is greedy.
And this is solely my opinion, but I think the name kenji is very generic :P, I think the name "Nishi" is good, it means from the west.

Good Luck On Your Project :)

Thank you for the feedback! I need to figure out how these interactions are gonna work, because I already have a few characters lined up. Also, you forgot to mention both Sha Monk and the Dragon Horse, they both actually had a bit of a supporting role as well(Sorry for nitpicking, I'm actually reading the book right now).
