Is there an equivalent to pressing F9 like in RPG Maker ACE that let's you bring up a window to change and view variables and switches?

F9 should work in MV the same as it did in VX and Ace. I just tested to make sure and it popped up.

'F9' brings up the Database window just fine, but can one interrogate that for variables and switches, and, if so, how..? I'd find that very useful.

I meant in game, while the game is running.

Edit: Nevermind, sorry, I didn't know you couldn't open the window while you are in a text event. Debug is messed up now though, I messed something up. X_X It opens and closes.

Brilliant..! I'd never 'twigged' that; this is marvellous. It will make certain phases of testing so much easier to be able to 'tweak' switches and variables 'on the fly'. Thanks a bunch..!

Dad's Dico...
'Twigging' = 'Light Bulb Moment', from 'To Twig': revelation, epiphany, 'Eureka..!', 'I get it..!'.
