how can i change fellow 0004's name in battle?

As above, i want to change fellow 0004's name in the beginning of battle, but it didn't work.
After showing text 000 , battle began, it didn't let me change 0004's name.

The reason why i am doing this is because i want to make a "quiz" system, when i change name i input a string,
if the string is right i can attack if not i will skip this turn.

Can anyone help, thanks!

Your quiz system is an interesting concept, but I do not think that this method will work simply due to MV's reading of code.

An option could be to check out some of the battle plugins Yanfly offers. These may have what you are looking for.

Does the quizzing occur before or during the battle?

Since the answer is given during it, I believe it must be the same.

This reminds me of one extra boss in chrono cross, where you need to hit it with the right kind of magic as an answer...
