After having an urge to try my hand at making a game, I thought RPG Maker would be a good place to start and luckily enough the whole RPGMaker bundle was one sale @ Humble Bundle so i took the plunge.

..And here I am. Whatever I make is likely just for personal use and already got a few maps done which are coming along swimmingly.

Welcome to our community ... like you I took the plunge and bought my copy of xp Vx ace Mv and 2003 on steam... I'm still learning here the core mecanics and I have had a story idea since 2005 when a friend showed me rpg maker .. truth be told I'm more of a ideas and writers sort of bloke and rpg maker Mv is just the platform I need to write my ideas
And to you young palandian ... make yourself at home with the resources and plugins that are available here
