Hello, everyone! I've decided to register on this website because I think it'll be an invaluable resource for me as I work on my game, which will be making the move to RPG Maker MV upon its release.

I've been using RPG Maker since RPG Maker '95, but I briefly took a break during RPG Maker XP's and VX's reigns, and returned for RPG Maker VX Ace. I don't know anything about scripting, and I can't make my own assets, but I would consider myself decent with the program.

Apart from that, I'm a website designer, although I don't yet know JavaScript. This would be a perfect opportunity to learn, wouldn't it? My favorite RPG is the first Breath of Fire game. I also like the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Phantasy Star, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Tales, and... well, pretty much every RPG that's out there.

As far as I know, the first RPG Maker for PC to be translated to english was 2000. I was wrong, I suppose.

No, I don't think you're wrong. I was using an unofficial translation of RPG Maker '95. Keep in mind that this was, what? 18 years ago? It wasn't the best of translations, and I never finished a project using the program. It was simple, and crude, but it was still an RPG Maker. Otherwise, I'd probably count 2000 as my first. Hehe.

18 years? Wow. 2k3 was my first engine and it was released around 2002 if I remember correctly? It has been 13 years now. I feel old. Looks like RPG Maker had a really long history. So given that your first engine is 2000, that probably means you've fiddled around 2k3, yes?

My first was actually '95, but I spent some hours in the trenches of 2000 and 2003. They're decent programs, but unlike some, I can't bring myself to return to them.
