Game Crashing Due to Switches.

I'm having an issue where my game crashes when I try to have the NPC circled in black become a party member and leave the original event space where they were standing blank. However, it's triggered by talking to the NPC circled in red. The party changes go through smoothly so long as the switches aren't on, but if the switch is turned on then the game freezes after the cutscene ends.

Is the event set to autorun? Autorun will stop all game movement and really mess with the logic of the game. Try a parallel event instead. Also some screenshots of the events would be good so we can help you easier.

Sure thing. The first event is triggered by talking to the girl, and for the second one there's supposed to be an NPC there to talk to, but the image is blank because I've tried running it with her there and without her there.

Hmm there should be no reason for the game to freeze entirely unless that switch is associated with something else, maybe a common event or another event on the map which has autorun enabled on it?. Do you have any other events on the map or a common event which is activated by that switch?

The characters currently in the party are asked to wait inside the building and become NPCs after the event. They appear like they're supposed to, but this problem occurred before I place their events in the game.

Maybe try activating the switch on a separate map with a dummy event and see if it works, this way we can ensure it's specifically those events and not the switch.

Well, everything looks like it should be working unless the second page to the first event is set to autorun, which would end up activating right before the main switch Pilot1. Also, you could try putting the pilot1 switch right before the self-switch but I don't think I've ever seen that effect something, I guess you never know.

Just as a test, use a newly-created, dedicated Switch instead of the 'Plot1' Switch, and see if anything changes. The only thing visible in those screen shots that could have any effect of the sort is that 'Plot1' Switch. Try with another, and see if there's a difference, maybe..?

All right, I'm finally home, and it appears using a different switch did the trick. I thank everyone for their help.

In the Editor Menu, under 'Tools', there is an entry 'Event Searcher', with which you can search for a Switch by its name. That will show you if that Switch is used elsewhere, either on a Map or in a Common Event. It would be best if you could track down this other use of your Switch so as to have better mastery of what's happening. Give it a try, perhaps..?

Now that I've removed the switch from the two events, I've searched it and there don't seem to be any other places where plot1 was used.
