Events - image change

Hey, I am new here and trying to find a suitable program for making a strategy game and i guess i found one which i like. I just ran through some basic tutorials and also the rpg maker itself. What I want to ask you is: how can i change an event image by clicking on it? I mean for example, when you have let´s say enough coins, you want to upgrade a building for a bigger or better one, so it will change its image too. Is there something like that in events or do i need to use scripts? Thanks fo help.

Are you looking to update sprites for events/actors alone, or are you trying to update map graphics this way as well?
