Any Way To Recover A Corrupt Game?

My power went out, and while I still had 100% charge in my laptop, my laptop suddenly just lost all the energy in its battery. This happened when I saved the game, too.

When I tried to open the game again it couldn't play it:

Is there a way to recover it?

Try copying a Game.rpgproject from another games folder into the one that is giving the error. That file does not contain your game data, it simply tells the MV editor how to navigate the other files in the folder that actually contain your game data.

Try right clicking on folder and 'restore previous versions'. Alternatively you can create new project and copy all old files over to the new project.

It just gave me another error "Cannot load CommonEvents.json" after i replaced the Tilesets.json file.

I believe that all of my .json files are corrupt. It seems that I will have to make a new game....

In my experience - with the same issue, i.e. power cut - you can attempt to copy and paste things from other "whole" projects because maybe one or more might be corrupt, not all of them, but in the end it's better to start again. With MV in particular you have the advantage of separate plugin "scripts", which can more easily be ported back into your game. With the other RPG Makers, once the script data was corrupted that's it, non-recoverable; you have to start ALL over again. Most important of all (learned the hard way) back up your entire project regularly so you can copy and past your "good" project back into its current folder!
