Akod's Piano Covers

As recently suggested to me by @Bizarre Monkey, I have created a thread for my piano covers on this site.
Over the past year and a half or so I have been primarily taking songs that stuck with me from my childhood and have been making piano covers, with added percussion, for them. This started on the (now shut down) site VX.net, when the staff did an event to promote people to try new art types. Each staff took an art style they were less comfortable with and made something for the event. I was the staff member who attempted to create a new song, as I was familiar with a piano, and ended up with a very poorly made track. But I enjoyed the experience so much that I started making covers instead, and haven't stopped since.

These are free for non-commercial use and only require credit of those who own the intellectual rights to the resources. I have marked the songs I have currently looped.

I listened to a couple of your tracks, and I like them a lot, I wish I could play the piano lol. Anyways I probably won't use any of these because I never make games based off previous titles, but I'm glad you shared them here.

Ah, the glorious sounds of General Midi! I must admit, I am a little disappointed since I kinda expected actual piano covers, so the songs actually being played on a piano. Nevertheless, I think these arrangements are pretty decent. I have made some arrangements of video game music myself but never a piano cover. Maybe I'm gonna try that out now that I heard what's possible. ^_^

Only parts of these are Midi, the parts I simply cannot recreate myself (like in Force Your Way). I am playing, just not all at once. (wink)
I'm really not that great with a piano, so they're made up of groups of audio clips stitched together (there are mistakes that you might have noticed where I stitched them), which is why there are parts where it's clearly not me playing it all. And you're right, these aren't actually played on a piano. Unfortunately, I don't own a real piano so these are played on my old electronic keyboard, which is why they don't match up to the beauty that is the sound of a real piano. I do hope to eventually get one, so I can play on a proper instrument, but that won't be for a while.

I do appreciate that you guys took the time to check these out.

Thanks for posting, you reminded me that I finished a track the other day and never posted it.

I was feeling pretty nostalgic recently. I added a new Chrono Cross track to the MV.co exclusives section.
