New Animated Battlers creation

I need help, not just someone to come and do something for me, but work with me and create an alternative/similar animated battler system for MV.

Why am I wanting to do this? Well there's problems, rather issues with the default animated system which people have noted, from issues with the default graphics and flow of the battle. It's been done every time and even when previously RM had an animated battle system people then created their own.

Who would I like to help? Well not just one but as many people that would like to help, previously I've worked with one person and a group of people. People with knowledge of JS would be needed and if they work together or separate is fine as I've seen either one work out in the past. People who just would like to have a say and put some ideas forward - graphically or core features.

I'd like to have this topic for everything relating to this so discussion can be open.
Firstly I'd like to see who's willing and interested in this,
The only topic I can find at the moment with the most active of content I've made battler wise:
http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/469-holders-animated-battlers/
-I've recently seen that the generosity of the RPG Maker community is still there, lets keep it going.

I'm not a scripter, but i am interested in helping.
I'm already re-working the graphics used in MV for the battlers themselves.
I'm not a fan of the style they went with, and the big heads on them just look insane, in fact i am livestreaming right now (almost 1 AM at the moment central time US) and i'm doing pixel art working on it if you wish to see.

I wanted More Animated Battlers you made. :D
Thank you @Orange Ball I'm working on them once again. I'm pretty much on my own as I think @TheGoof has moved elsewhere. I'll do what I did for XPs Minkoff Battle system, just keep making them and if the desire for people to use them is there I'm sure someone will create a plug in for them.
I've been doing a bit of testing since I now have MV - Great thanks to those who initially sent me those videos showing how it looked in battle. The first thing I noticed was how small my characters look now. However they are the same size as the MV Default characters it's the fact that they are bulkier which makes them look larger height wise.
Anyway the picture below show's three versions of my standard battler, A is the normal size, B is which one I like most - still gives room for large enemies and bosses, and C which I think would contain too much detail for only four frames.

Thoughts C&C on this?

Any help is always welcome, all I was able to find is someone asking about my battlers so there's literally nothing available for MV yet. I've also not even had a chance to speak to someone who knows Java script as to how the weapon graphic sheet works in relation to the battler sheet.

would it just be character sheets, or will it be part of the character generator. I am in love with the generator as i tend to create lots of characters with battlers :P

I am not sure how weapon animation works, but it is not difficult to fix any custom animations!
So is it just frame over frame or is it a certain coordinates from 0,0 of the battler frame?
Actually the main thing that's really needed is the sheet being able to be used. How would you feel about trying to get a plug in that used my battler sheet itself?

I've tried generators before in the past and there's been plenty of problems with them at all stages. Sometimes things like clothing would overlap or be missing on certain characters and other problems creation wise.
For the case of MV I'm not really wanting to use its battler layout as I find it's got one less frame per pose and the poses used aren't really necessary and really it's missing some nice poses which would work well for enemies.
AND, as I know I'm blabbering now, the weird problem I had was people, sorry people, but clicking which parts you want doesn't mean it was created by them, not getting any sort of mention is a disappointing thing but when people use a generator they then claim it's their creation. Which isn't nice, not not nice at all, no sir it isn't.

I'd be interested in providing an animated battlers plugin of my own as well for learning purposes.
I may also branch into other types of battle systems where animated battlers can be used for various purposes.

That'd be great, I worked with a few people for VX Ace and they all put their unique touch to it. People like Victor Saint kept adding various add-ons to it while Galv did things like a fighting mini game. If you would like to that is.

I should have a MV standard base done soon, they're gonna be just a bit bigger and without a weapon. Same pose order and frames.

Do you think they would be suitable for, say, an action battle system where you run around and hit people with whatever weapon you're holding?

Naturally, due to the size of the sprites, it may be a separate battle screen rather than being mixed with tiny sprites on the map.

Yeah they'd work fine for that, I've seen two made over the years. First one was like 'Tales of' not sure which one, and the second one was made by Galv which was more one on one:
Is that the sort of ones that you mean or is it a four directional system? If it is that then there's no up or down facing graphics. If it's not then the enemies won't be a problem because I make those also.

Suddenly felt the desire to learn how animated battlers work in default side-view battle system.

I had to delete the background since I don't know how to tell the engine which color to use as the transparent color.

I'm assuming each frame is 96x96,

I've found that MV doesn't have that option anymore so I'd have to create them with transparent backgrounds for the next generation.
That's really nice work Tsukehime :) would you mind if I asked a few questions in regards to what can be done with the graphics? I don't want to fully complete something if it isn't really realistic in terms of user friendliness.

I definitely need to make them a bit bigger, I've been trying to set up one that's 16% bigger.

What questions did you have?

This is how the plugin is set up

1. It reads your image based on the number of rows/columns that I've specified (in this case, 14 rows, 4 columns). This can be changed.
2. Users then specify which action should use which row of animation. Waiting? use first row. Attacking? use 5th row. Dead? use 13th row.

That's about it.

I am looking for an animated battler script for MV that allows you to use the regular charactersets for the battlers (so that you don't need to make a separate PNG just for the battler)...as well as using the icon for items in the game (in the menu) as the actual weapon you see in combat..I was able to pull it off when my game was VX Ace because I used Victor's animated battlers script..The same script that Holder used for his battlers (but I set it to charaset mode)...Here is a video as an example...I have a game where I use the Mack Character Sets but also have like 50 characters in the game so making battlers for each one would really be time consuming.

the sprites i've been making are 48x96 for walking and 96x96 for battle. unless you want to use other tiles sizes (MV's 48x48), those work the best for taller sprites imo.
