Banner Revote

I'm still happy with 2 and kinda pissed that it feels like my vote the first time did not matter, bad enough my own banner did not get chosen, then the one i voted for and got put in place has to be voted on again?
I call BS!
The other one is TOO simple and too boring.
The one we have now is the one i like.
You may as well stick with the original simple one if this is how it's gonna be.

Yeah... that's democracy for ya. To be honest, I don't even care about the results. This forum is not about the freaking banner anyway. It's about the community and the contents. As long we all get along and help everyone out, it doesn't matter under what flag we sail. :)

I still think it's to early for a revote and this complete banner-contest/voting-stuff. We haven't decide a mascot yet and it makes a huge difference for the logo if you add more to it, or not. In this case we don't have ANY space to add something, due to the fact, that both logos fill up the 250x50 pixel.

If I add SV-Battler-MV-Tan as a sample, I personally think banner#2 with a simple recolour would look better then mine. Without, my vote goes for my own banner#1. With the normal MV-Sprite, it goes well with mine.

Personally, I think my opinion varies with the template I'm using. Honestly, even though I don't like the black template, I think #2 looks better with it, while #1 and original look better on light (which I'm sticking to). I like simpler fonts for letter and such.

This might be nitpicking but the question asked is "which banner do you like better". I think with this vote right here we can get a general overview of what the users here like to see in a banner and we could look for similar designs and combine them with the mascot to get a few "final" results that would be up for vote as the actual banner.
So, yes, I totally agree with you there. :)

Whoa here's a crazy idea that I've already suggested that will make both sides of the playing field happy.

Have the clean one for the light theme, the one reisen made for the dark theme?

Considering the sides are about even, that may be an inventive way to not piss 13 or more people off.

This way we don't have a single logo that could be used for more things, like the christmas contest-banner. A logo that represent the community.
I don't know why the people should be pissed about a logo. They all can follow the development of the community and the situation.

This whole thing pretty much encompasses why most communities don't give the members a choice about the logo/banner/mascot/what have you. If nobody can be happy, just pick what looks best for the forum. Somebody's going to complain no matter what the outcome is.

Okay in my opinion I have the best solution - make a banner rotator and use them ALL! :D I've seen other forums do this and it's and a great way to keep things fresh. That way the more banners are submitted, the more can eventually be rotated through in the future! ;)

Someone was talking about the wages of militants, and minimum wage, so I was looking at the differences. A PFC in the army makes 22k, whilst minimum wage makes about 18k. If you'd like to know my findings XD

Regrettably, I agree. Being one of the founding members of Dinoctopus.com has made it very clear democracy in forums need to make sure that one ruling exists.

If it ties like is seeming to be the case we'll revert to the one that was chosen first, correct? That's just what sounds logical.

I think you know that's a pretty phony excuse. We should have cast once and that be it.

Ah well, it's only the dumb banner, not the instrumentality project.

I'm a little peeved about it as well, mostly because I personally know the artist who made the second and she won fair and square. Now suddenly she didn't... if I were petty enough I'd actually just go get my whole collective who aren't here yet to make accounts and vote for what won originally and completely shit in the face of democracy which I in most cases stand for.

But I won't be petty like that, it looks like despite all the "a-blah-blah it shouldn't have won" that it's going to tie or win anyway.

If I remember correctly, I made a recolor of my original logo to fit the theme more. I'm not sure if Xyphien had noticed it at all.

Banner #2 still. I really like the look.

I also like Macro's idea to have alternating banners every time you refresh the page. maybe it would be a nice addition in the future, after we've had these banners a while. like he said--KEEPIN' IT FRESH! also would give more people a chance to contribute to/be a part of the community.

Just knowing the artist doesn't ever make it okay to mess up a vote, and we'd notice anyway, so don't bother.

I've only been suggesting this since before voting began for the first time. I also mentioned it for the three we had on Dinoctopus as well.
