After having MV for a few days, I just want to say I love it.

When I humble myself and look at the big picture, it's a great tool. I have always loved RPGs and often awed in wonder at how they were created. The people who got to make the great RPG games we know probably had great opportunities, but for someone like me who was raised in a town with a population of 300 people, this program is a portal into the world of making an RPG.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. :)

Just curious, why does MV not meet your expectations? By no means am I trying to start a debate or do I plan to have some kind of pre-formulated rebuttal. I am only curious about why it does not satisfy you in terms of being a development tool.

First, it comes with some weird bugs. Second, there is no option to import resources. Third, it doesn't allows the user to change the interface language.
Also, the android conversion fails because you need to do it all by yourself.

First off.. the bugs have been ironed out last i checked.
Second, you don't have to IMPORT anything, you go up to the top and click Game and then click Open Folder.
From there you copy and past what you need to be in your game.
That's the new method for importing things.
Only thing i can agree with is the last point you made... that's a BIG fail.

I could write a book about my issues..
I think i will just make a thread...

the new auto layer system annoys me more than anything , i prefered xp and or aces more so than mvs
Why does this bother you? When I started mapping in MV I really enjoyed how it auto layers, the thing I found hard to get used to was the big tile size, I find it odd to place such big tiles in the editor and it really messes with my way of balancing maps out.

To brighten up the conversation. I too, love MV :) Transferring my game from Ace to MV was a headache, but now that I got that part out of the way, I'm in love with MV :D I've been nonstop updating my game. *Over 100 hours into it thus far, though I keep it up and running 24/7*

hahah 100 hours :O I have 20hours on it, but maybe only 10 of actual me playing with it. I'm sticking with ace until I finish my games, the only time I will be using MV is when I'm looking through the javascript files to learn to script.

Mostly cause some of the tiles lay down in an odd way and others maybe it just takes time to get used too.. but for example placing a upper layer tile such as a house in front of ground layer such as cliff sides kinda glitch odd and when you wanna copy paste a house from one area to another it also wants to copy the bottom layers behind it making you have to erase the tiles and manually replace them.. its just not something im completely fond of .. i m just used to ace i guess..but i can say the more and more i use mv the more i like it

My only eyebrow raising moment I've had with mapping came with messing around with roofing for the outside of buildings where it tiled a slanted roof over the previous square one, leaving the square one visible underneath. Otherwise I've had more enjoyment from this maker than I ever did with VX Ace oddly enough. In terms of my only negatives about the resources, I kinda wish the tree wall autotile wasn't just black behind it, it looks kind of silly. Mainly someone can edit it to maybe look more like dense woods or something. I'm no artist so I don't think I could do it.
