Jxudo submitted a new resource:

Whispers of Fate W/Demo - An RPG inspired by classic JRPG's like Final Fantasy.

Hello everyone.
I'd like to introduce my game Whispers of Fate.
It's a game being made in RPG Maker MV, and it's inspired by classic JRPG's such as Final Fantasy!

I announced this game on these forums quite a while ago, and now it finally has a demo ready to play!

If you would like to know more about the game, I have created a facebook page for it which you can find here.

Also I made an official website, which you can find...

What is the game about? Looked at your Facebook page and also your my-free-website site and none told what the game is about.

Hmm, I've tried to express the game through it's trailer and website without throwing out spoilers... But it seems I haven't done it very well.
Guess I'll have to work on that a little more.

Anyway, here is a basic summery about the back story and the setting.
Whispers of Fate is set in a world 1000 years after a crystal meteor eclipsed the sun. The sun scorched the planet and forced all civilization to live in man made caves in the mountains.

After the eclipse they discovered pillars made of crystal, these pillars had restorative powers that could bring life back to the land.

This game focuses on a party of 9 characters. While not all of them are in this demo, you will meet the four most "Important" ones to the plot.

All these years after the crystal eclipse, something very odd is going on. Towns and villages are being completely "destroyed" and their citizens have vanished.

If you'd like more information, you can use my website to email me and I'll tell you more. I just don't want to ruin anything for anyone who likes to avoid spoilers.
Thank you for taking the time and showing interest though! I'll work on being more explanatory on my website and facebook.

Fail (Final XD) Fantasy is one of those series I detest. Nevertheless, I'll try out your demo soon and give my feedback. Congrats on making it to demo stage!

That is plenty enough information to peek curiosity, without divulging too much. Thank you.
Good to know! Thank you for bringing it to my attention that I hadn't given enough information out.

What do you dislike about the FF series so much? Whispers of Fate isn't exactly a complete copy of an FF type of game. It's unique in my own tastes.
Anyway, thank you! I look forward to hearing what you think!

The plots and characters are some of the worst in RPG history imo. Cardboard cutout, personalityless ,one-note characters in a plot that's just.......idiotic, honestly. They've never been any good. But they're good for a laugh at how bad they are sometimes.

I don't so-much mind the mechanics. Except the majority of the ones I have played I can literally smash the same button, never use any fancy summons, and win the game easy peasy. I can get along with most game mechanics as long as the plot and characters are quality~

Hmm, yeah as I've said in the "News" section on my site, the character personalities are my current priority. They do feel a little generic in the demo I think, and I really want to be unique. So that's what I'm currently working really hard on.

I've downloaded it and given it a short spin. Firstly: Disclaimer... I'm an old fuddy-duddy, not very good at making Games, and even worse at playing them. That being said, I found it to have a high-quality execution, very nice graphics, a smooth Game mechanic and a coherent start. Unusually, no 'typos' to speak of (the mis-spelling of 'captain' during the intro excepted..?), with an agreeable tone of dialogue; neither too formal nor too 'young'. I've not got far in the short play I had, but have already been introduced to Crafting, Quests and the culture of berries, and have won my first Battle (OK, I had some help from other Characters, I admit...). I'll certainly be looking into the Demo a bit further, as the Plot piques one's interest from the outset. It may become too complicated for me (did I mention that I'm old..?), but it's off to a Good Start. I say "Well done, that man; more power to your elbow." My thumb is up.

Oops..! I forgot to give credit to the fine music and fx in there. There..! That's now corrected.

Thank you very much for not only taking the time to show interest, but to also create a critique! I'm super happy you have enjoyed my game so far, and found it nicely accessable. Knowing someone has enjoyed my work made my day!
And it makes no difference your age, I respect people who still play games after their young adult years!
