The Joys (And Frustrations) of Level Up Items

So, Mr Optimistic here can't seem to find the topic that covered this... well, at least, I think I saw a topic on it... anyways...

I want to generate an item that, upon use, the character levels up. No other effects, just levels up as if [the character] had accumulated the EXP required to level up. My common event does this to a point, but it keeps applying the effect to the entire party, but selecting anything else will only level up the character selected.

In addition, I keep getting an item window appear after I've used the item, telling me how many of the item I have left, rather than heading straight to the level up notification. See the third image for this.

If I did this as a common event, how would I write it?

I'm guessing level up isn't a trait option. It's hard to have a check through when you haven't got screes to a computer but is there an add exp trait?

Sadly no...well, not one that I've found anyway. It's weird because a lot of RPG's have the option of setting an item to trigger a level up, but I can't find the option in MV. Yet there are options for all the other stats.
