Some of you know that I sometimes do unconventional RPG Games. I work on a bunch at the same time. Here is a sneak peak of any earl map for a game called, "Marked Up." All images, even including animations will be done by permanent markers, some Sharpies, some Marls-a-Lots.

And yes, the hole in the 'Home Tree' is intentional not completely blackened in.

I say kick some ass with the sharpie and show us some progress! I'm interested to see the development of this project.

I did not even show y'all the characters and battlers yet. They take a lot of time from being Sharpied to being presentable. I have to do a lot to make the color to alpha cover desired regions.

To those familiar with the Ball People, this will be even MORE primitive than them. AT least the Ball People had sides and backs....

Oh cool! I actually have a WIP project like that I need to dust off sometime!

(....except mine involves moving dumpsters and hiding bodies)

I find this idea intriguing and charming. Im new here and haven't really checked out much of anyone's work yet, but I think this style of graphics could be really neat. Especially if the game itself possesses the same kind of charm as the unique visuals :)

"I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain this to you."

Not sure if this phrase can be taken as an insult or as an intentional nudge/joke :D

Jokes aside, it's definitely an interesting concept...are the enemies gonna be squiggles or drawings too?

Windows and Mac short demos are ready...
Jolly good, and quite a refreshing change from the hi-tech 3-D cinematics that are so prevalent (and almost impossible for mere mortals to emulate..!). Looking forward to the full Game, feature film, action dolls, sticky-tape dispenser and other marketing props. Maybe this could attract sponsoring from a felt-pen company..?

I like the idea of the minimalistic approach but the art feels, lazy and rushed. Maybe if each line had a purpose and not to be just there.

this reminds me of the Idea I had back in rm2k era... I wanted to make an rpg where ALL of the art was grayscale pencil work, I think I now HAVE to do that... Or at least something similar with m Wacom pad and such. Wooo some random reinspiration. hmmmm my mind is kinda onto something now. ~
