I was thinking about the RM cskills classification, "designer."
Generally speaking I understood it as a catch all, and I don't mean that to devalue the role or ability by any means. However, I know some people are great at designing maps while others are much better for designing mechanics; one is more visual and the other more technical and analytical. Both are equally important and definate skills by their own right, but still somewhat mutually exclusive.
Would it be more helpful for people in search of teams or extending services, collaborating, etc., to better define a focused area?
Designer:
Maps
Mechanics (eventing)
Scripter:
Manipulation
Development
Writer:
Story
Dialog
Artist:
Parallax
Sprite / tile
Just a thought...
