Salutations RPG Maker (MV) Community!
Two rare occurrences for me today:
1) I have joined an online community
2) I'm doing so on the internet while in the middle of class (Electrical Engineering, I read ahead and am bored)
I first used RPG Maker XP back in middle school, when we used to save things on floppy discs (yes, you read that right). I spent three years building a 12-15hr "demo" of a game I wanted to be 40+hrs long, left for camp one summer, and came back to a new computer and no signs of my project. Having worked on it completely independently (past forums I had tried out did not treat me very well), no one else had a copy, and with that I gave up. One year later, I was off to college for my first degree with a MacBook and no money - RPG Maker became a thing of the past.
Until now.
I'm a happily married computer science major working at a map library building online applications. MV's JavaScript shift makes me infinitely happy, as does the Mac compatibility. I'm a writer to the core (several novels, unpublished), a gamer through and through, a learning scripter, and a makeshift artist and musician. I am currently planning the next project (a FF-inspired 2D RPG, nothing too fancy) and look forward to developing it into a playable iPhone app. Also, I plan to play test, constructively critique, edit, conceptualize, or whatever I can to be of service - it's something I hope for now and had wanted as a beginner, and feel able to offer myself now. I look forward to forging some friendships as well as helping out with others' projects, as well as receiving help when I'll inevitably need it. Thank you for your time, guys.
