~-~ Why hello RMMV community ~-~

Yay! Happy Friday! I'm excited to introduce myself. I found this place in a google search looking for resources [which are amazing btw, so jelly for the skills and abils] and I have to give you major internet points, because I feel like this is a genuine community where I would be more than happy to contribute in whatever way I can. Kind of a jack of all I guess, whatever I need for a project I can learn to do [which is what I love so much about RPG Maker; there's just so much to learn and experiment with]. But if I had to pick my favorite thing it would be the story/character creation. No wait... the mapping... no no no editing resources in photoshop... maybe organizing databases? It's hard to pick lol. But I do absolutely love creating new worlds with maps and back stories and all the fluff. I grew up with a SNES and fell in love with The Legend of Zelda [it pains me to say I didn't discover FF3 or Chrono Trigger until I had grown into a full fledged adult. Go emulators!]. Then on the PS1 it was FF7, 8, and Tactics, [still haven't played 9 yet, I'm saving that one for a rainy day... along with all the other greats I missed out on (blush)].

I discovered VX Ace early last year and thought it was the coolest platform to build a story on. I learned a lot tinkering around with it and there was always a wealth of information on whatever I was trying to do. I never did finish anything though [that's the problem with having too many hobbies lol] . I think it's an amazing outlet for creative potential. The character generator in MV is by far my favorite thing. Especially with the resources I've found here. Anyway... Guess I've rambled enough now. Hope to share some of my work here soon. And if anyone needs help with stories or maps I would be more than happy to assist!

tl/dr

Greetings! (smile)

WoooHoo! What a great introduction, we don't get them often but when we do, I sometimes shed a tear.(cry)
Anyways I welcome you to our awesome community and I sure hope to see you around, either creating good discussion or helping out in the support section, not that you have to, I may be getting a bit overexcited due to a good introduction. Anywho thank you for signing up and doing a decent introduction, I look forward to seeing you and your creations around. Cheers.(cool)

Welcome!

Ah, such a grand introduction. A rare beauty in this section of the forum.

I need to play more classic RPGs myself, I've been too lazy to play any. XD
I did however play Chrono Trigger, on an emulator, too! But I was still a child back then. (Even still now, perhaps. :P) Although I think I didn't finish it on SNES, but I did on the DS release.

Looking forward to seeing your work!

That was quite the introduction! Glad to have you on board! It's great to hear you're so excited to be here and eager to join us, I feel you'll fit in with us quite well. And the fact that you're already offering your services to others is awesome, it's your first post and you're already trying to give back to the community. =)

Now, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, that's what we're here for. I hope to see you around!

Hello and welcome to the forums! Thank you so much for your kind words on the forum/website. I'm glad you like it, and you view it as such. If you need anything feel free to ask myself or a fellow staff member :D

I also grew up with SNES as well.

it pains me to say I didn't discover FF
I never played FF3, only FF2 for the SNES as a child. :O FF2 remains one of my favorite games ever. I'm actually about to buy it as a carterage for my SNES when I get back to the states!

Don't be modest... I've read enough around here to know I'm among some talented wordsmiths (right). Thank you for the warm reception [and all the wonderful compliments on the intro. I sincerely appreciate it]. Hope the RMMV community had a nice weekend (blush)

I know how you feel. It's a difficult act balancing work, personal projects AND gaming. Sometimes to get my "fix" I'll listen to the soundtracks while I work. Definitely gives me that warm fuzzy feeling to have a cup of coffee, my keyboard and the FF7 OST playing in my headphones.

FF2 remains one of my favorite games ever.
I haven't played FF2 yet [one day!!!]. FF3 was similar enough to 7 in gameplay and music that I was hooked like a little kid again [plus there were chocobos (jolly)].

What is your favorite theme to write about?
Oh, I hands down favor dark fantasy/science fiction themes [I'm too indecisive to pick one (tongue)]. My problem with never finishing anything is I like to have a setting to draw inspiration from, and in my mind a setting requires a world which requires a history and a map and governments and... It can be exhausting lol. I end up writing about everything other than the story I have in my mind. Kind of like the writers version of 'shiny object syndrome'. I dunno, maybe I'm just focused on the aspects I find more interesting. I do hope to share something soon. When I moved over to MV I decided [agonizingly] to start a new story from scratch. So at the moment I'm in the process of fleshing out a new world, characters, etc. I'm excited to share and get some feedback though!

Thank you again everyone for the warm welcomes!
