Post Auto-Merge Feature

I love the auto-merge feature of consecutive member postings. Sometimes there are vital updates that might be missed if the thread was just edited.

I am also weary that it can be misused, and will use it only when the information is needed immediately (like a long step by step critical explanation).

I think it's been glitching, @Xyphien made it so that after a certain amount of time the auto merge will no longer be needed, but for some reason it still merges, but then sometimes it works as it's supposed to and won't merge after the time period. What is your concern here though, not quite sure I understand?

I'm not really sure how the auto-merge can be misused, unless you mean as a way to excuse double-posting. Even if the post is merged, we can see when/if it happens, so if it's disruptive we can take action.

The auto-merge has been acting odd lately, though, I agree lol.

ikr the auto merge is coco banana for a one or two months now. I wonder what actually went wrong or was changed in the data to act this weird ? Seems to be something complicated, doesnt it ?

Yeah I had some problems with the auto-merge recently. @Amysaurus had to merge them manually for me when I tried to post an update in the writing RT discussion (tagging other members)

Yeah, I bumped a thread that was months old and it merged them :/

Just a little note, I can't fix things if you all don't report it :O http://www.rpgmakermv.co/forums/feedback-suggestions-and-help.5/ The feedback/suggestions post is to also post any messed up things around the forums, such as the light theme, auto merge, etc. I had no idea until this thread it was acting up.

I'll look into it after work and see what I can fix with it, or just reinstall it completely. As for being misused, the only misuse I can see from it is bumping it, and that's something that really can't be fixed with or without it.

I noticed it had been acting funky too, but it was still bumping threads which is what I truly wanted, though merging every single post can get really messy.
