Hey, new person here.

I actually just stumbled across these forums an hour or so ago. Was just doing a google search for some sort of roguelike/dungeon crawl script that I figured probably doesn't exist yet, and I ended up here somehow. Figured it might help me get into this whole RPG-creation thing, since I have no idea what I'm doing yet. Normally I'd lurk for a few hours/days/years before joining, but I can do that afterwards :P

Anyway. I'm a web designer but looking to get into game development of any sort, so I've been trying to figure out RPG Maker now that you can publish for more than just Windows. I like making pixel arts but probably can't build a tileset/sprites, and I like jQuery but probably can't script RPG plugins. So I'll just stumble around until I figure things out, I suppose.

Well, I certainly haven't made anything RPG-related yet, and am rather new to pixel art in general beyond some static sprites for simple games I've made.
The only notable things I've made so far are a Space Invaders tribute game:

...and a character creator program (about retro games). The characters were "ehh" but I'm proud of a few of the backgrounds:
