One of the things I have noticed about a lot of RPG Maker games is the skills are not very diverse or interesting. It's usually Fire 1,2,3 Ice 1,2,3 heal revive etc, and it's the same with States, they tend to be more or less the same, Sleep, Poison, Ect, so I decided to try making a list of a bunch of different abilities be at everyone's disposal that others can add onto, maybe something will inspire you to build unique characters or will just give you an idea that isn't basic Fire Spells.

Because they have quite a few I'll just link Yanfly's Tips and Tricks playlist (The reason I thought of this because all of those tips and tricks are very different from most RPG Maker Games I have played)
and Drifty has a few very interesting custom classes complete with unique skills.

Gambler -
Bard -
Blue Mage -

Time Mage - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9deSjgc818
Mystic Gunslinger - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmoS7OYD1zg

That should be a decent start. Let's see what we can come up with.

I came up with a totally random idea. An Alchemist class that uses a slingshot to shoot drugs at the enemy to say, inflict poison, sleep, paralysis. I don't know if I'll use this idea in my game or not I just thought I'd share it here. I also made an Assassin class that uses knives (daggers) and there's a like, 30 % chance it'll cause instant death. My main character in my game is an Archer, and her skills are things like, say, triple shot.

My favorite resource is greek and Latin prefix and suffixes. Helio- is the prefix for sun but works well to replace those fire skills. Just splash in some creativity and you can have Helioclash, Helioburn and that is just the first things to come to mind.

As a side product it will increase vocabulary. With my previous example Heliocentric means sun centered and is a real word.

A fun idea for my game that I'm trying is renaming the "so-and-so casts ___" to things like "so-and-so hit the enemy with ____" or "____ unleashed ______" and making the description of items and abilities fun, comical, or idk threatening? I renamed Enchanted (or whatever the love paralysis state is named) to Lovesick and gave the description something like "Cockatrice is busy gazing into Tina's eyes!" I think it adds something unique to a game to do fun little things like that.
