MV Discussion being added to checklist?

So, many people dislike the fact that a lot of people simply lurk, and don't post anything but a hello thread in the discussion section. This being said, if I added MV Discussion to the checklist, it will make people more likely to post a topic in the MV Discussion, thus spiking up some conversations, and interaction with the community as many people don't like the checklist being displayed.

What are your views on this?

I feel that requiring people to create topics in the MV Discussion section would simply lead to a lot of repetitive and/or spam-like threads popping up with little to come of it. Honestly, I feel that if someone doesn't wish to be an active member of the community adding one more thread to the checklist won't change much. Some of them may make a couple posts on their thread if talked to directly, just like what happens in the Intro section, but more than likely they will just make a thread about the first thing that's even vaguely MV related that comes to mind, which they likely won't even care about. As much as we may hate it, there will always be the people who simply come to lurk and collect resources. Don't get me wrong, there would be an increase to the number of members who become more active, but it likely wouldn't be a very large percentage, so at that point it would be more of weighing the few extra active members against the influx of potentially unproductive threads being made.

I think when members who are just shy but want to be part of the community read a lot of threads and when they realized that everyone here is treated nicely they start with an introduction post :) I did the same to be honest. People come and start to post when they feel like, when others post a lot they get encouraged too and post too. We could/should get that community project back to roll. I think it's the thing that might help the most ;)

Like Akod said, I don't think people will post unless they want to. @Cunechan makes a good point about the community project though, it really was the best way to get people involved. People love to get their ideas in a game and watch them in action.
