Media Players in Posts

I suggest the imbedded media players in posts should be disabled. These large video players take up so much space. I suggest only showing a click-able link - people can just explain what the link is. That way people can view it if they want to or not.

I enjoy the media player embedding. What do you mean too much space? like bandwidth? or actual space on the post?

idk. I lived with my grandma for too many years she taught me that everything is expensive and you have to be frugal. I just assumed all that media player stuff going on was taking up too much web space or something. Idk. but yea also it is annoying how much space they take up in a thread

hahaha, it's always grandma behind these idea lol. Well I don't believe it takes up any webspace, it will make the pages load a bit slower if every post has one but really I don't find it that bad. As for actual thread space, we can start putting the videos into spoilers, unless enough people really want the video embed gone, then we can talk removing it, but until then spoilers work.

i agree with ltn here, myself being in the opposite of wise. where i rather have the video's appear like they do.
it's much more convenient for the video to be in the thread, to then having to click a link to watch something that could already be there. to myself it doesn't seem like it takes up much or if any space of a thread. it certainly doesn't take up any website space either because the video file is posted somewhere else. example (youtube, dailymotion, ect) this site just it embed it here for easier access. i like the feature, but i'm not apposed to open opinion's. if it was a serious problem. it could always be voted on by the community but imo i don't think it's that serious.

I think it's more convenient to have videos embedded onto the site - I tend to just put mine in spoilers if I think they make my post too large. :)
