This is my first long-term focus on a game for some time, and I am putting a lot of effort and energy into it.

THE STORY BEGINS...
Celia and Daphne were raised as orphans in a monotheistic cult high up in the mountains, oblivious to the world below them. When a stranger comes to bring them home—to learn the truth about which girl is the true queen of the western kingdom—the peaceful village is attacked. Even though Celia and Daphne don’t want to leave, they realize that their departure is the only chance for the village’s security.

Ultimately the two girls learn of the god-making--The usurping of gods from the pantheon to change mortals to gods for the sake of changing the balance of power. The six elemental forces of the earth are being thrown into disarray as elemental mages vie to make themselves, or their champions, one of the six gods.

Celia must find a way to stop these usurpers from tearing the veil between the world of the eternal and the world of the mortal before the elements decay and the world descends into terrible chaos.

CHARACTERS
CELIA -- As the potential queen of the western kingdom, Celia leaves her mountaintop home. Raised to believe that elemental powers only result in ruin, she is shocked to learn that she has had a great deal of air power deep within her, just ready to come out with training. Celia struggles with comprehending other viewpoints at the beginning and must become more open minded if she is going to find the way to save the world from destruction.

DAPHNE -- Raised as an orphan with Celia, believing herself to be the sister of the girl who ultimately is found to be her cousin, Daphne is not the strongest of young women. While she is skillful in herbal medicines and gardening, her left arm suffered nerve damage after a deadly snake bite nearly killed her. She is hesitant to make much of herself, and likes to stay in Celia's shadow. Like Celia, she was raised to believe that all elemental powers were dangerous. Again, like Celia, she was shocked to learn that she herself had power--the power of Life. [is unable to be chosen during a large portion of the game]

QUENTIN -- A member of the Inquisition with the power of earth magic, Quentin is sworn to protect the kingdom of rogue elemental mages who seek to usurp the power of the gods. He is sent to find Celia and Daphne, along with Neil. Instead of waiting for the other man to keep up with him, Quentin heads to the mountain village on his own. He is a brash, confident man who is passionate and dedicated. Quentin believes that hard work and strong principals can save the world--HIS principals.

NEIL -- A western kingdom's cavalier, Neil is not the most experienced member of the royal force, but he is one that is careful and calculating about every move that he makes. He is a skilled tactician and able to determine safe routes and the best ways to deal with enemies--man or beast.

ASHER -- This fire mage is extremely powerful and sought after by both the god-makers and the god-savers. He struggles to determine his place in the world, and the path that he should take. He can be a bit dishonest when it comes to his feelings, choosing to keep himself safe and secluded until he can make the choices that could change the course of the future.

TILDA -- A lady from a lower noble's home, this young woman chooses to join with Celia on the pretense of wanting to see the world and help train Celia (as Tilda is a water mage). However, Tilda has a secret. Helping Celia is not the only goal she has...

IVY -- This woman presents herself as a fighter and joins the team to help them work on their non-magical offense and defenses. She isn't all that she appears, however, and has control over the element of death. She has long hidden her abilities due to disdain for them, and only reveals them to the party under extreme duress.

RHYS -- [[ still figuring him out--either swordsmith/mercenary/assassin or bard... but definitely non-elemental]]

I might add one last potential party member as I find 'holes' in the story.


I have been developing my baddies, but I don't have full profiles on them yet. I'll update this as I am able.



TBD... Working on getting a Chrono Trigger-like battle system where the elements can mix. I.e, air + earth = sandstorm, fire + air = lightning, etc.
