Hi, I'm Aria and I'm working on a long term goal of mine in making a fantasy game. My current plan for this game doesn't have much use for the battle system, I am working on using events to drive most of it (it is very story driven) but this may change as it develops.

Hi @Ariahannah and welcome to the forum. They are a large variety of battle systems available. I have seen and made game that had no battles at all.

Hey and welcome here. Story driven sounds interesting, do you make some events when you have to decide with consequences and stuff ? Games without battles often have a better atmosphere and you're more in this immersion.
