Hello everyone, we recently found a few of you all are beginning to use the marketplace, and some of y'all are putting prices under $1 in it. That is fine, however, you won't be getting as much as you'd expect... And here is why.
We (RPGMakerMV.co) take 20% of your purchase.
Paypal also has it's own fees. They take 2.9% + $0.30 per sale.
Meaning, if you have $1, you will receive (1.00 - 20% = $0.80 before paypal. After paypal $0.80 - $0.30 = $0.50 - 2.9% = $0.49)
This means, if you sell a product for $1, you will only get $0.49 cents after everything has been said and done. Because of paypal's set $0.30 pay they take, it is often times better to charge a minimum of $5 when using our marketplace. The higher price you put, the more you end up getting in the end.
Unfortunately that's how paypal runs, and this is something we'll try talking to paypal about, however, I highly doubt they're make any exceptions to that policy.
