food·ie
ˈfo͞odē/
noun
informal
a person with a particular interest in food; a gourmet.

Carrying on a tradition that started way over in RPG Maker Web by MsLittlefish, I bring you a place where you can let your inner martha stewart/emeril shine! I love to cook. A lot. Those who know me know what sorts of craziness I get myself into.

Feel free to post images of food you've made and feel free to include recipes! *great big wide smile* If ya wanna, that is.

So. Check this out, you guys...
I made some pull-apart cheesy bread the other day (Simple, just cut a loaf of sourdough bread into squares, almost all the way through... then stuff cheese slices into each cut. Use your favorite combination!).

And here... is a cookie I call the chocolate death drop... An intensely chocolate cookie... one bite and youll be on the couch.

  • Post pics of homemade food only!
  • Or you could talk about food you made or wanna make.
  • Follow forum rules (but of course!)

thats because i make sure the meat is smothered in the bbq :P and i learnt how to make the pork/lamb/beef without turning bbq all hard and not juicy :P i cook it for 30 mins without bbq then i move it around and pour bbq on and put in oven for 20mins, then i get nice food and not burnt and not pink :P so i dont get food poisoned :P

@Iron Croc We ate okra gumbo, when I was a youth, almost every Sunday, at my grandparents. It did not matter if it was 29 degrees F, or 99 degrees F, we had hot okra gumbo. My mom cooked more roux (roo) based gumbos, and I do likewise. File, which is ground up sassafras, is popular to put in gumbo too. I sometimes make mine Creole style added some diced tomatoes in it. The next one will be with chicken and smoked sausage. I love seafood gumbo, with shrimp, oysters, and lump blue crab meat.

I'm salivating and my stomach is growling (even though I've eaten!). I can cook but don't cook. Unfortunately I don't have pics of it, but my specialty is curried chicken. I blend the spices in with coconut milk and cream, then kind of marinate the chicken in it, adding sultanas to it as it's slow-cooking. The salad side-dish is garnished with sesame seeds or sometimes has nuts in it. According to my other half, this is the standout dish for her.

So... here is a project I started a week ago today. It failed, grossly so, so I had to start a new one.

I call it Colony-0116B. (It looks exactly like the other one, so...)

This is a baby sourdough starter. It already started to burp! There are a few bubbles here and there; it was extremely happy when I gave it its daily feeding. The large and particularly smelly gas bubbles told me so.

What is a sourdough starter exactly? It's a living thing; an entire ecoystem of microflora and bacteria (lacto, to be precise) working together to ferment... and can make bread dough. Delicious sourdough, that is.

They can literally live forever; I once knew of a couple that had 99 year old sourdough starter the wife got from her grandmother. As long as you feed it daily (or store it in the fridge when you're not needing it so it will go to sleep) it will stay alive and grow.

I'm kinda excited! I hope it grows well and makes deliciousness.

Peach Chiffon cakelets. I don't have a griddle so they didn't come out a nice brown like if coked on a griddle, still friggin' bomb.
