    Wondering where to start....

I say, spend some time in preproduction first : - Have a vague outline of your story, no specific scenes yet, just chapter by chapter, an eagles view. - Think about your combat/ class system, what skills are there going to be ? - What characters are there in your game ? - What enemies are you...

    Tempest of souls

Brend's not the actual gunmage, his main thing is that he's a dabbler in many things (think FF red mage). The main gun/bow mage is the Captain. Brend either does gun attacks or magic attacks, the Captain incorporates both into the same move. Converting regular ammo into tazer ammo, spraying the...

    balanced game

My advice would be to get familiar with spreadsheets like Microsoft excell or google sheets. Give in the damage formula , and a table of possible stats, and see what happens, or you can use a little math. Warning: Math ahead! There are 5 parameters that count during a random encounter: Player...

    Hi, New guy here

I'm no new guy to rpg maker, just new to this forum. Currently busy remaking my VX Ace game in MV from almost scratch. Pretty good at eventing and game balance, not quite as confident at mapping, and while I can read scripts/lightly edit them , writing from scratch still isn't my thing.

    Different Armor Types/Ideas on balancing

What I usually do, is give the light armours more magic defense, and the heavy ones more physical defense, with medium armour balanced between the two. In one one of my games I included force armour, which creates a regenerating HP shield around the user. (Using Yanfly's absorbtion barrier...
