*pulls questions out of a hat* Do you guys think there are any sorts of resources that aren't being covered in the RT that should be here? Or maybe we should have more than 5 members to a team? [/QUOTE]

I have been keeping up with the community's growth rate. It is growing faster with each new week. Currently having teams of five, including leaders, having five teams, would give us 25 RT members, We are approaching 2,500 total members. The RT would represent 1% of the forum. If we were to look at active members, that percentage would be much higher. AT, this time, I personally do not see the need for having more than 25 RT members, unless we are preparing for an rapid exponential growth.

This is a good idea, and while a new thought in your head, it's not new in RPGmaker history.
Mmmm, yeah, it was basically the second part of the thread I wrote recommending a writing team. But it just attests to what super geniuses we are to both suggest it, right @Micro? I thought I put it somewhere where everyone can see, but here:
Along with that, I think there's a lot of potential for collaborations - for example, a writer could come up with a character, a graphic artist(s) could create a portrait/sprite for the character, and a musician could even create a theme for them. Also, if voice-acting is a thing we choose to include at some point, writers would be great for coming up with dialogue for voice packs.

@eivl: I think that would be a great idea. I can only speak for the people who have no clue about plugins, but I think that would help those who are just starting to figure things out.

@MinisterJay: Yeah, I think 5 works. Now, getting to the point where each group actually has 5.... well, we're working on it. xD

Could setup a plugin creation workshop online. Where users interested would get a simple plugin task and i would be available as a teacher of sort.
I like this idea, we could work together on this.
@Amysaurus I think 5 members per team is a good number for pushing a good amount of resources.

I just realized something. Why is there not a role for like a video editor? Someone who knew how to make animated cut scenes, videos, and movie style things for MV? Just curious why something like that isn't there yet. It is a pretty big part of many of the best games out there (granted they had huge pools of resources and such too). Maybe something to consider in the future?

I have to always search for things relating to that, and never find anything that's really helpful in helping to understand how that's all done properly. Someone capable of good guides and such for that would be a plus I'd say for any community for game makers. Maybe even make templates others could alter and use.

The thing with this, is these resource developers are hard to come by. We only have one Graphical RT Member currently who is @Amysaurus graphical talent is a lot more common to come by than video masters (Or whatever they would be called lol). Until we get someone who is capable of coming up with amazing cutscenes, and everything who is willing to, and be able to create some for the packages we won't be able to have this.

Yeah I know the "rarity" in that heh. As mentioned, I have to look for a very long time to even find ideas to work with in terms of media arts. I actually had attended college on that front but I didn't learn too much other than the basics myself so that's not very professional lol.

I'm actually trying to get into the RT as a graphical artist, and yeah they're much more common since it's one of the first things a human learns to do (scribble - drawing). There's a lot of good ones out there for sure. I'm new to digital art myself, but am extremely professional in RL sketching and character designing. I've done a bit of landscape design and such too. Some of my landscape ideas were used in an online game called "Rheima". I used to work with their dev team before they "sold out" to a larger developing company.

Would be cool to see someone like that in the team though, especially since it is a rare skill. I may try to find good tutorials on how to make basic templates to help a bit there, but I really don't know much about video editing. We'll see eh xP

That's actually going to be a tutorial I write in the future.

If you'd hired me you'd have been set, too!

Such a shame, hee hee hee!

(I actually never sent a PM and probably won't now I think about it.)

Knowing Biz as long as I have, I could think of a few good reasons. (wink)
You give my latent destructive powers too much credit.

I'd be no more powerful as a resource mod that I am as a member.

Or did you forget I did whatever I did (I sorta forget, lol) without ever needing a position of Authority?
and why would anyone want to keep The Biz out? madness.
You have no idea.

If we have interested video editors/creators at some point, they could probably just apply for the graphics team. The hardest part of doing videos, I'd wager, is making material than you can easily use in any project. They'd have to be borderline generic, or not stray much beyond default materials to work. I imagine that'd be very difficult to keep up.

This is exactly what I wanted to bring up. They would have to create easily editable templates for people to personalize as they need for their individual projects. And while I don't know that much about video editing I think I can still safely say that that would be nearly impossible to do.

yeah I thought about it after my initial post on that lol. It would be problematic to keep persistent with generic materials. And it would also fall under a graphics thingy anyway. It would be possible, if they knew what they were doing, but I highly doubt anyone would bother tbh lol it's tedious when one thinks about it.

That would mean creating game-specific custom assets and that's not what RT's here for. We want everyone here to benefit from our work. :)

yeah heh. I might be able to make some basic video templates for the genres eventually (general genres like RPG, Horror, etc.) but even that's a long shot since I know very little about video editing from scratch lol. We'll see in time, but that will never be a focus of mine since I'm more of the eventing/graphic artist person xP

Well that's not what I'd be signing up for, I'd be writing tutorials showing people how I do what it is I do, not making it for them.

I.e. it'd be writing thing.
